Question about Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty

2 Answers

I cant get the front of the x-fi xtreme gamer to recognize the headphones, nor the inputs. I am configuring in XP, and after in win 7 64 bit. The back portion of the card works fine. The ribbon is connected firmly with no bent or missing pins. There just doesn't seem to have power to the front. And, I have no idea how this remote control works. How do I get sound to come out the front? My freind had no problems in Vista. I cant run recording studio software in vista. This has got to be an easy fix. hmm. Give a nickel for a solution

yea. i got it from a friend. Installed and thought about the ribbon and power.. that doesn't sound like thats what i am looking for. There is a plug on the back right side, dont have spec's to look at, so was wondering if i need a power clip to plug into it. can't figure out why there is no function at all comming from the front. So, the power would be a good solution if that is the right pins to connect to PS. I am not A , but know alot of reasoning and obviously need some technicality advise about how the front operates with the back. If, not including the ribbon. Thanks micromatikal!

Hello

I own the same card. Xfi-fatality Pci-E is my edition, yours might be PCI. No matter.. The thing is you first need to install the support pack 2.0

When you have the drivers and programs installed. make sure you got the front wired up properly, to the card and does it have a separate power connector aswell? make sure everything is connected and it should work.

When I insert my mircrophone I need to change the sound settings in the program that uses it, so that its taking the right source. as this card has Front and Back microphone connectors, you need to select the right one.

So you have tried both Windows 7 and XP? I believe that front panel does have it's own power, are you sure it's plugged in? Please check, I have one of these in one of my computers as well, will confirm for you here.

I am using M Audio Fast track Pro on Windows 7, and, after a lot of time spent trying to figure out which input and output channels were which (via the Control Panel) managed to get the sound operational...

My suggestion is to uninstall the Fast Track device, restart and then reinstall the software. Also, not knowing the computer you are working with, I would also suggest that the speakers are not disabled somehow ( IE, Mute button that got accidentlly activated). Was anything else done to the computer between the time is was working and the time it stopped working). If your audio card and and software are working properly, your speakers are the problem.

Let me know if you can add any more detail to the issue so I can help your further if necessary.

Low sound and buzz from speakers / Hum noise from sub-woofer

Select Start > (right click) My Computer > Manage
In the Management window select > Device Manager
Next to Sound, Video and Game Controllers click the + sign
A yellow triangle will signify a problem so if one is present, right-click that device and select Properties
You can then choose to update the driver

Hi,

your deck is expecting a digital signal provided by optical cable.
Hence the error message you see. If you want to record using RCA cables, you will have to set your MD recoder so to use analog input.

Press the INPUT key repeatedly to select the Analog input, then connect your RCA cable to the Analog input and start recording.
You may have to adjust the recoding level (or volume if you will).

OR you get an optical cable and then use the Digital Input 1 or 2.

See page 11 of your user manual for detailed instructions.

Cheers
