If it's completely missing then either the Y-sus board is fried or the filtering capacitor has failed the big way. You should be able to see that just by looking at it - the capacitor will have its casing deformed. Simple test - replace the capacitor and try it. If it's the same then disconnect the wire leading to the Y-sus board and try again - if it's dead then the rectifying diode must have been fried, replace it.

Sounds like the power supply has failed then, 80v is the main power of course, so without that the power supply is more or less dead.

Thanks

What problem of sharp crt 21v-w70m dropping voltage in b+ to 80v when i turn on

Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Why 2004 honda shadow sabre flywheel rubbing stator?

Wow,- how do you know, I never heard of that.
Maybe if one of magnets is bit off. Do you have 80V AC from stator wires. (Three wires coming from left case cover). Measure between two with engine on must give you ca 80V. This way you know Stator is o.k.

My power will not turn off and the blue light stays on. I get no picture or sound. PLEASE HELP!!!

First of all you have to check the Va - 60V and Vs - 80V voltages at the power supply point. If any one of the voltage is missinig there are two possiblities for that. One is the power supply itself and the second one is the sacn drive modules for X and Y. If the scan drive modules are faulty then the or short then the Va Ans Vs voltage from the power supply will drops.you have to measure using a multimeter is there is any short circuit in its power supply in put point. When the voltages from Va and Vs point are missing then this will indicated by the blinking of power light. To rectify the problem you need a good knowledge in electronics. Aslo need the necessary equipments for measuring the voltage at different points

Hitachi PDP 55HDT79 got no picture

that power supply is a switch mode power supply, which means it looks for an input signal to turn on.
that signal comes from the main pc board.
if there is excessive current draw,it will shut down.
check the input, and the screen circuit it is driving

Crown PSA-2 power amp. Right after turning power on with volume controls all the way down, the amp continuosly thumps the woofers (alternating from the right to the left. This just started to happen. No...

Hi! The thumping motion is usually caused by faulty cross-over voltage biasing. What this is is simple; Power amps of high wattage are usually constructed of two similar but opposite polarity amplifiers ;one drives the top (positive) part of the sinusoidal and the other drives the bottom.

The simple causes that need to be eliminated are

1) Earthing :-check earthing to ensure no earth loops
2) Check the Power fuses:- usually, the supply of power to only one part of the amplifier causes thumping motion. The power section in these designs have a positive and negative polarity eg.=80V-0V-(-) 80V
3) Disconnect the speakers and check the power supply Voltages across the output stage sumettry for more details visit

B&W PV1 Subwoofer

Make sure that your amp is putting out proper signal to the sub woofer.

If the feed from the amp is okay, the power amp and our the power supply in the sub woofer may have become defective. This will require to be serviced.
