Question about ASUS A7N8X-VM Motherboard

Open Question

I know I have a driver issue but how can I solve it???? I just installed a new motherboard asus a7n8x vm 400 I installed windows XP Sp1 but when I got done I could not get a internet connection so I upgraded to Windows 7 and still got the same problem but with a new issue. The first Issue I was having was the computer would not log online. Under the Network and sharing center I?m getting an unidentified network message keeping my system from obtaining a valid IP address. For some reason it?s stuck on public network and will not let me change it to home. I tried all of the basic trouble shooting first by turning on network discovery then I checked my network cable; reset my modem and router, and rebooted my computer. After cycling everything and still no internet connection I tried to manual assign a IP address. next I tried to go online using a different computer to find a updated driver and transfer them via flash drive with no luck just the windows is using the best driver message. I tried installing Driver Detective put when I try to launch the program it shuts down because it don?t have a internet connection. The second problem I?m having is a unknown device in device manager. When I check the device properties under general and location it say that its on my PCI standard ISA bridge. I do have a vt6421a IDE/SATA raid card in stalled in 1 of the 3 slots but when I uninstalled the device and shut down the computer and physically removed the card and rebooted the same thing popped back up. Updating the driver didn?t work I tried to go to the manufactures websites to get all driver updates with no luck. So what do you recommend?

Go to ASUS downloadsite, the link above, in the box up to the left where it says "Input model To Search" put in P5VD2-MX, you will now recive 2 MoBos, chose the one you have, press enter, you will now be asked to chose OP, chose XP, all the drivers will now apear for you. Chose them you want, download them and instal them. I recomend you to instal them all since i belive that some of the drivers on your pc is old, thats why you getting that error message.

Good luck

SOURCE: EVGA x58 SLI LE + VIA VT6421A RAID card Install without os?

There are many tools you can use to install RAID stuff. For example Hirens Boot CD - the download may be broken but google it and you should find it quickly.
Also if you need to boot from a USB then try UNetbooin or  some of the tools mentioned on the site.

This should help to install RAID there are many tools on here. What kind of fussy os has to use SATA dvd drives anyway.

SOURCE: IDE Ports not working on ASUS P5LD2-VM Mobo

This MOBO requires a driver in order to run the EIDE slot, so before it can be used use the CD-ROM and master HDD in the standard IDE slot to run Windows up then install the drivers then you should be able to rearrange things to have HDD's in the EIDE and other stuff in IDE. this is the download site, its the 2nd oiption in the RAID category

P5PE-VM asus board audio driver

Hello there.

Please click here to download the drivers for your audio chipset. You may note that Vista is not listed but the driver version for Windows XP works in Vista, there was a problem with the installer cd on Vista but apparently manually running the installer for the audio card, from the cd works fine. Click here to see what other users of the same motherboard said.

Hope this helps.

Go to this Asus web site:
On the right side of the page fill in under, "Please Select the Product". Choose these.
Clcik: Utilities Find your operating system. Download.
Might be a good idea to download everything else since you do not seem to have your Mb CD.
