This is a bios beep code- it is a way to diagnose hardware failure in your system. The 1-3-3-1 code indicates a memory failure- Contact your technical support if the system is in warranty/ consult the support site to find the memory spec so you can purchase replacement memory

When you have some beeping sounds when you turn on your laptop, it is a warning, that there is about to be a problem with your laptop.

Mostly, the problems tend to be hardware problems, most especially when the laptop falls or hit a hard object. Try to have it opened and ensure all the components like the module, hard disk, RAM, are all tightly connected, and if anyone is freely hanging in there, tighten it up.

After doing this, try to turn on your laptop to see if it will do the same, if it does, then it means the module is faulty, the module is what serves as the flex of the laptop allowing it fold, and it carries messages from the board to the screen.

Have it replaced if it is detected to be the problem.

Take care

56 in toshiba rear projection tv. When u turn it on the green light comes on and a yellow light flashes 15times followed by a click sound. No picture. What does this mean?

Try going to to research your problem and what the 15 flashes of the yellow light means. Try unplugging your TV from the wall for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in. This will re-boot your TV (like re-booting your computer). If still no picture, if could be your bulb, motherboard or color wheel.

I Need to Reset my laptop but i have already tried F1 & F8 & Zero Any Suggestion I don't have a repair disk or any disk. Help

What do you mean by "Reset" specifically?

If you mean you need to reboot your laptop; but cannot turn it off you can hold down the power button for 10 seconds until the laptop shuts off; Then hit the power button again like you would normally.

IF however this is not what you mean by a "reset" and you mean you wish to whipe out all data and reset the PC back to factory default & install.

Most laptops have a "Recovery Partition" that is to say part of the hard drive is designed to reinstall/reset all software on the laptop. (You will lose data using this method)

You just have to get to the boot screen options when the PC is first turned on.

The most common keys used to get to the boot menu's of most PC's are the following:

F12, F10 - usually for Dells
F9, F8 - usually for HP's and maybe some Dells
F2 - can be for Toshiba's
F1 - can be for Toshiba's
ESC can be for HP's and Toshiba's

In some instances you may have to hold the key down while most require you to only strike the key at the right time during the POST process.

This should get you into the boot menu or the BIOS either way will help.

IF BIOS you will want to change the delay perameter on boot, which sometimes can be set to 0 seconds which results in the PC not allowing you to see WHICH function key you are supposed to use for your laptop to enter either the BIOS or the Boot Menu. I've seen this being the case on a lot of Toshiba Laptops. After changing this to 3-5 seconds reboot the PC, you will then be given the option to enter the boot menu and/or BIOS you should be able to see which option to select to get there.

From the Boot Menu you should be able to access the "Recovery Partition" and then reset the PC to default settings with default software installed. (Again this will cause data loss if you do not back up your data first)

Hope this helps.

Toshiba satellite c660 not starting up

Do you mean that it wont turn on at all or that it will not boot into Windows.

Try the following ...

Remove the battery and leave the power supply plugged in and try.

Borrow/buy a new/generic power supply see if thats the issue - no power

If you mean windows wont boot successfully you may need to find someone to reinstall Windows on your laptop from the recovery disks/partition

Locked and Frozen mean two different things to me.

Frozen means the computer is stalling or hanging while doing something either while booting up or after windows has booted all the way.

Locked means a password needs to be entered to unlock and gain access.

My Toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 PC Notebook will not star it brings me to a screen with an underscore key do i get it started?

Hi King,

I see that you are having issue with your Toshiba and as you mentioned that you are seeing a black screen with a blinking cursor and I believe that it is on the upper left side of the screen.

Having this blinking cursor means that the machine is not booting into the Hard drive, we will check several things on your laptop to find out what is causing this on you laptop.

  • First as soon as you power your Laptop ON keep on tapping f12 to get to the boot menu, once you see the boot menu screen it will show you a list the first one should be you Hard drive it should say SATA so on ans so fort click on it then press enter this should boot into your Hard Drive but it still you get the blinking cursor then we will need to check the BIOS.
  • To get into the BIOS from shut down as soon as you power the system on keep on tapping F1 this will show you a Blue screen it may say Phoenix BIOS on the upper left side or center or may be different,
  • Once in the BIOS screen there will be tabs on top of the screen for options, look for boot check the Boot sequence and change the first boot priority to the Hard drive.
  • But doing both the instructions above will only work if the Hard drive is detected, by doing F12 for the Boot menu if the Hard drive is not on the list then the Hard Drive will most likely not be in the BIOS as well and this means that th Hard Drive on your system may need replacing.
I believe that this is a far as we can go since there is no other option to do regarding this concern, unless you would know how to open up you Laptop from beneath and re-seat it from it connection, re-seat meaning remove and reconnect.

Have a nice day I hope that I was able to provide details that can help .

Toshiba portege 3500 tablet saya tidak bisa booting lewat external cd room .. yang ada di layar monitor terbaca : intel(R) boot agent version 4.1.06 copy right (C) 1997-2002, intel...

It means that the BIOS cannot find a disk to boot.
Make sure you selected the hard drive in the boot settings of your BIOS
Remove all external DVD drives or floppy drives or ethernet cables
If you get an error message, you should start troubleshooting your hard drive.

Toshiba laptop won't bootup with or without hard drive or with or without memory sticks

hi wvrd

you say it wont boot up, but do you actual mean, it wont start up?
are there any lights on when plugged in, are the fans running ect..or does it just appear dead...(no lights or sounds)

there is a difference if its not booting
or it wont power on

if it is starting up, but not booting to windows, post back and we can go from there.

i see some are assuming its booting up but not to windows, but till we know for sure if its not booting or its not powering up, we wont be able to advise you further till you clarify its state!

this could be something as simple as the power adapter if its not powering on.
