Run autoprogram on ANT mode instead of cable. As long as you're not in an area in which they shut down the NTSC early, rabbit ears or extenders should improve reception. If you are in an NTSC-early-shutdown area, you must buy a digital converter box. dtv.gov for more details.

I just bought a progressive scan Tv and can't get it to srtup to any channel it just stays on channel 3 mono

Progressive scan has nothing to do with your tuning, it refers to the scan lines in laying the picture on the screen...ie. progressive scan versus interlaced scan.
to program TV channels you will need to go into the menu to do that either automatically or manually. If you have a cable or satelite box connected to unit, that may explain why it programs to only ch 3.
If using cable or satelite box I highly recommend use of Either HDMI cable or composite cables.

I have did the auto scan and the tv screen is still blank. i need some answers asap please!!!!!!!!!!

does a DVD player work on the unit?
if so, be sure you have good connections of your input cables (and you know these connector cables to be good), then see if you can manually program channel 3, or any other channels programmed manually. I suggest channel 3 in case you are using satelite or cable box. Then turn the cable or satelite box & see if you get reception on channel 3.

New Sharp Aquos LCD 46 TV

If you hooked up the satelite box to your tv Automaticly the Satelite box is the one who pick up the channels (from the satelite)
In this case your tv is acting as a monitor only. Try to connect your tv with HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable for best picture. Don't use RF antenna input to hook up your Satelite Box. Hope this Helps

New Insignia 19 inch when hooked up to Optimum Cablevision does NOT get any cable channels..JUST basic channels...OLDER TVS all get the Cablevision full spectrum of chanels. Does it require a BOX to work...

yes, the premium channels are in a band width only reachable with a cable box. The standard or what would be over the airwave channels are available without a "box" in the basic cable tier.

Program satelite or cable

you are not specific as to programming cable or satellite .if you have cable tv with a cable box there is no need to program tv channels.the tv should be left on channel 3.check the back of the cable box & tv it may also be connected thru rca/s-video or componant cables meaning the tv should be on a line in/source ,or video input. for a tv without a cable box
you can do the auto or manual programming. no need to be on channel 3. if you have satelllite tv you need the box to hook up to your tv.you cannot bypass this box unlike cable tv.also check the back of the box for the other possible connections
good luck

Won't tune in all channels

Do you mean the channels from the internal tuner which would be channels 22 to 68, or do you mean satelite channels, as I do not know whether this set has a built in satelite receiver? Satelite broadcasters are often changing frequencies or satelites.- Programs come and go!
