HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless- Is there a print

HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless- Is there a print counter in the unit or sofware? Black Ink and colour cartridges have expired after 8 weeks- Fax Log only prints last 30 transactions received and sent. Black cartridge specified for 2100 pages. Not a large office - only using for Fax receive and send and 2 or 3 pamphlet copies so far.

Hi! Please try to unplug the unit from power source and press/hold the power button while unplugged to reset the system. This can be just a system failure which needs to be resetted. After 10secs. plug the printer, turn it on and observe how it goes. Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya!

I have a hp officejet pro 8500a and it has started leaving a black line on all copies when the original is fed thru the ADF. What is causing this??


Hi, Change first black color print head cartridge just open cover then replace black print head cartridge.close cover wait for ink cartridge reinitialize if ready print test again.if same print having black line all copy needs to replace also black ink cartridge.

I have my HP Officejet 8500 connected by cable it starts printing then stops for a while then completes. can you help?


These units have two areas for ink, the normal cartridges and what they call print heads.
As you print ink is sent to the print heads, the pause is more than likely this operation.

Depending on how long you have had the printer the print heads may need to be replaced, however the printer will tell you if they need to be changed.

I replaced my black ink and now it wont print black ink


Remove and re-insert, you are not locating the seating properly, push gently at an angle until you feel a slight resistance, then extra slight push should locate properly.

Ink levels are fine but black will not print and some text is missing


Remove your cartridge and then clean it portion from where ink is present....and then use it

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem


Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
