How to replace a fuse in a hotpoint

Check the circuit breaker for the plug the dryer uses. Open your house power panel and locate the breaker for the dryer. It will be 2 breakers connected together by a metal pin so when one trips it will trip the other. This shuts off 240 volts. Sometimes only one breaker will trip without tripping the other one. This leaves the dryer with 115 volts to work the rest of the machine but won't power the heating element. Replacing the breaker will fix the dryer.

Starting tripping circuit breaker

Good Afternoon Dennis - Often when this occurs, it is because there are too many appliances on the circuit or something may have a weak or poor breaker. Try plugging the unit in a different location or on its own circuit. If the issue continues, then it could also be possible that something shorted within the unit. So in this case, because it is a smaller appliance, repairs are often more costly than the actual unit replacement. You may want to check and see if your dehumidifier is still under warranty and if so, reach out to the manufacturer to determine the exact warranty coverage. Thanks for allowing me to help you.

Trip switch of breaker?

First of all, did you disconnect your Range prior to working on it. This is something that should be a priority when working on your range. Or, you can shut off the breaker, which is located in your house electrical panel. It's most likely a 50amp 2 pole breaker, and could also be in a sub - panel in some houses. Check this out first before continuing. And, if it is tripped, turn the breaker to the off position and leave it off until you replace your heating element. Once completed, then you can turn it back on. Try this, and if it works - great! If not, will try something else.

200AMP Breaker trips same time every night

Something doesn't sound right here. You indicate 2 200Amp breakers. With a single service entering the house, this is not possible. The "sub-panel" to the pool house is more likely a 100Amp setup, yes? If not, you have a bad setup and it should be corrected. I would suspect that you are attempting to pull too much current to the pool and that is what is tripping the breaker. Also, these breakers should not be run over about 80% of their capacity for the long haul. If they are, they tend to age and get either real sensitive causing tripping when it shouldn't or you can run 500Amps through it and it won't trip.

My suggestion is to revisit the setup. If the pool house is fed from the main panel, make sure that the breaker for it is not 200Amp. Second, try disabling the pool house breaker to see if that is the source of the problem and look more closely there.

Keep us posted.

Installing a Dayton G73

How many amps is your service? And what gauge wire did you use for the heater?
If your service is only 40amps that is your problem. You don't have enough amps for the heater and the rest of your house, you will have to upgrade your service.
