Question about Sony RM-BR300 Remote Control

1 Answer

I have the EVI D70 attached to a remote control RM-BR300 and on manual adjusting the white balance the problem is not there. but when in auto settings for our presets we have a red hint line on the edge of people during recording. what can we do to have the auto setting corrected. it is hooked to no computer and also is used in a auditorium setting with stage lights as primary lighting while the camera is at the back of the auditorium.

Here's the problem/solution. Although the RMBR300 is able to save 16 presets, these are stored in the cameras. Some cameras, like the BRC300, only have 6 storage positions while others, like the BRCZ330, have 16. It's a feature of the camera that is limiting this, not the controller.

Is it possible to turn off the white balance in a Sony Cybershot DSC H5?

White Balance is not a setting that can ever be turned off, it is simply your camera's way of telling what is white so that it can process colors correctly. You can however adjust the white balance manually or simply set it to auto. Auto white balance usually works great and I would highly recommend using it. To adjust your white balance, here are the steps:

chuckman2.png
1) Press the menu button. scroll using your arrow pad to the WB option and then press the Control Button.

2) This should bring up your white balance selection screen. Keep in mind that if your camera is in full auto ( the dial is set to the camera icon ) you will not be able to adjust your white balance.

I hope this helps!

Not receiving power to unit... was having a camera button stuck but now no power....

Bartteries have probably drained, unscrew or unclip it clean thoroughly, remove all grease debris etc, put back together and put in new batteries. You can wash all the plastic parts and keypad in warm soapy water and rinse dry well. Clean the circuit board with isopropyl alcohol. Don't wash it!

RM BR300 and EVI D70

Had the same problem myself - check the connections at the back of the remote control itself. I recrimped and after cold rebooting everthing, seems to work fine now. Hope this helps.

You're shooting under incandescent light, and the camera doesn't manage to set the white balance entirely automatically. You can try to explicitly set the white balance to incandescent, or you may be able to create a custom white balance (I'm not sure whether Nikon bodies offer that feature), or you can adjust the white balance during processing (in which case it's better to shoot raw).
