If you are talking about the integrated control design on the top of the d/w door panel then no. They are designed to fit tight underneath the counter top for a better look.

The way that you can troubleshoot this: Turn off the power to the machine with the breaker or if you can reach the plug and it is a plug (and not wired direct) and wait a couple minutes and turn it back on and see if that resets it. If it does not, Take the six screws that are in the lid on the top edge. There are two on each side and two in the middle near the latch. You should then be able to remove the control panel. IT has lots of wires connected to it. There is a module on the right side that has lots of wires connected to it and there is one ribbon cable that connects to it that is also connected to the control panel. UNPLUG that ribbon cable. Put the control panel back on, leave the door open and turn the power back on. Then close the door, if the pump starts and you hear it draining then the problem is in the control panel, if the pump does not start then the control board is bad. Both parts are about 160 dollars. You can also enter a diagnostic mode to test things by pressing HEATED DRY, NORMAL, HEATED DRY, NORMAL and it should light all the lights and if the door is closed then it will start all the tests.

The door on my machine won't shut?

Hello

You will need to adjust the dishwasher door latch to fix the door if it will not close. The door latch can come out of alignment from use. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly.

Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door.

Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter.

Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets.

Adjust Door Latch

Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door.

Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them.

Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts.

Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.

Need an schematic for model fdb435rfr

A paper brochure with schematics, parts list and service diagnostics was inserted behind the control panel at the factory in mine. To get it out, shut off power at the breaker box; lay the door down horizontally; unscrew the two screws (now facing up) in the door that hold the ends of the control panel to the interior edge of the door. (You may also have to unscrew any along the top edge.) The control panel will drop away from the exterior of the door. The paperwork will be under a clip near the controls.

Replace top burner outer coil not heating

Hi- There are a few on either side of the control panel assembly, under the covers. They like to hide them. Some models have connectors for the wiring harness to top, so you can remove whole assy. to work on it. Helps to have somebody hold top while plugging/unplugging though. Pay close attention to which wires go where when replacing element.  Let me know if this info helps- have more if ya get stuck! Thanks- Ed

My dishwasher (same make and model) had a similar problem except I did see some sparks coming out from th front on the side of it (on Thanksgiving Day no less - a lot of manual diswahing followed). What the problem ultimatly was is what I believe to be a factory defect. On the front door if you remove the inside panel to expose the wiring, I found where the door closes, the ruber coating on the bottom metal edge was worn away (from just years of opening and closing the door. There is a bunch of wires that run from the control panel to the power source and pump. Once the metal was exposed it comes in contact with these wires when the door is opened and closed and it was just a matter of time before they got shorted out. Fortunatly for me this happened while I was standing right there and was able to turn it off or this may have resulted in a fire. Also because of the quick shut off, none of the electronics or motors seemed to be affected. After respliceing the wires that were exposed, the dishwasher is working as normal. I plan to go back to Maytag to see if there is any complaints regarding this same issue.

Makes growling noise during the wash cycle. some vibration. unit is 6 or 7 years old. it is a maytag jet II EQ. cannot locate the model number as it is a built in unit. would appreciate any help. thank you

Hi Spacepaint, No manufacturer hides the model/serial number behind the enclosure. Look closely on the side of the door panel edge and on the inside edge of the door jam. You will find the model number there.
Growling that happens on every cycle normaly indicates either debris in the sump area / filter or a failing pump motor. Remove screws and inspect the well area for debris.
Recommend a service call if problem is not resolved by the cleaning.
