Question about Kodak EasyShare C633 Digital Camera
My camera came with a 512MB SD IMPACT memory card. That card continues to work fine in my camera.
However, I have been using a 1 GB SD IMPACT memory card, which has worked fine until recently. I have taken many pictures on it and put them from the camera onto the computer without problems and have deleted many pictures from the camera. My 1GB card said on the camera that it would hold 900 and some pictures, but the day that it said it had over 200 pictures left on it, it quit working. I went to review my pictures for that day and found that the last 10 or 12 pictures I had taken were not on the card. Worse yet, my screen was red and said that the card has the wrong format and press okay to format the card. I did not press okay for fear I would lose my vacation pictures, right? I have taken it out and put it back in, but that didn't help.
How do I get the pictures off the memory card now that it says it has the wrong format without losing them? And why, after all this time, does it say it has the wrong format? If I just hook up the camera to the computer, will it let me print them off? I haven't tried that, because I really don't want to take the chance of losing the vacation pictures.
Thank you for your help. When I purchased my digital camera it did not come with a memory card so we went out and got one..so we're excited because we've got a party that same weekend..we take lots of pics and the camera tells me to format the memory card in order for it to keep on working...at the time i was in a hurry to take more pics so i formatted..turned out that meant the pics previously taken were goin to be deleted...so i lost the pics..then we take it to the place we bought it at..and they just replace the memory card with a new one..same brand...ok..the thing had been working great..we went on vacation to texas for thanksgiving to visit my family, and i had just had a baby and it would be their first time meeting her...so we take pictures of that....600 to be exact..then the damn thing asked me to format it again...i'm so sad right now..cuz i don't want to lose them...i haven't formatted it..when i connect my digital camera to my pc it doesn't pick up any pictures at all..then i insert my memory card into my pc and it doesn't pick it up...i don't want to lose my pictures they mean so much to me...please can somebody help me?
The only solution left is to get a card reader and insert the card in the card reader.
when the card is detected it will show a removeable drive in My Computer. Right click on the removeable drive and click on properties....now click on the the tab which says Tools......now under error checking click on Check Now......now click both the option that is Automatically fix the system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
After the scan is complete the card will work fine.
