How do I adjust the convergance? I have a shadowing problem

Press menu on the remote then scroll down to setup then enter setup. The auto convergence feature is listed there which will reset it automatically. If auto convergence disappeared from the setup menu then you will need the RCA convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com which does contain the instructions.

I have an RCA hd52w59. I just got it today used and I don't have a remote for it. The colors wont converge and I think it is a Convergence Chip Failure from what I have read on here. But one of the ways...

chek to see is the setup menu has the word convergence on page.
if not the the problem is an open 0.4 fuse beside the flyback/center one of three in a row.
the fuse blows because the flyback need to be resolderd, cracks on pins.

Convergence

I'm assume you are referring to a non adjustable convergence option. this will occur when you have a damaged convergence chip set that is located on either the PC board or the convergence board. The location of the affected chip will vary from model to model but, in most units, this can be fixed by replacing the convergence board or chip.

52 inch rca look like 3d picture

You have a convergence problem. The Red and Blue are out of convergence meaning they are out of synch, causing shadows. There should be an Auto convergence option either on the television or through the menu options on the remote. If this doesn't fix your problem, then there's a manual convergence option. Should that fail, a service call is in order. Best of luck!

RCA R52WM24 52 in. HDTV convergence IC location

the rca itc222 chasis uses no stk the convergence is controled with transistors... the convergence amp board is located above the main signal board(green board)... it can be identified as the one with several heat sink fins on it. FL231 is related to convergence.. there has been a problem with this fuse when it blows the processor doesnt know it is a projection set so it turns it into a regular tube tv. Here at the shop we have found number one reason this fuse blows is poor solder connection on the flyback. So replace the fuse and reflow the solder connection on the flyback and around that area also the horizontal transistor and then see if that doesnt fix the problem.. if you have an more trouble ..... willie@fordtv.com

RCA CONVERGENT PROBLOM

The convergence problem is likely to be in the convergence power supply which is located above and between the two boards which lie flat inside the chassis. The power supply has a chip on it which is a common problem (If it is not the transistor type then change the whole board.) part number on the chip where the metal heat sink is located. Part number may be STK 730-010 or STK 730-130 both number will work and must be unsoldered and new soldered in.
