Make sure that you download the audio drivers, and make sure that you download the correct ones, and install them. Your best bet is to go to your computer manufaacturer's website and download and install the latest correct ones for your system.

I have lost my speakers on the monitor. Using Microsoft XP, they were working but now they are not. Did some driver updates then lost the sound on the monitor. Checking the control panel indicates that...

Sounds like you've lost audio output from the sound card. Unplug the audio cable from the sound card and plug in a set of ear buds or headphones. If you don't get any sound your driver's not working. Try reinstalling the old driver.

Logitech soundman G1 cases don't function..Do I need a driver ?

Driver might need to be reinstalled but to confirm this you should attach any other set of speakers of Headphones. However the driver or improper installization of windows xp usually causes this on getting updated. I'm not sure that what windows you are using therefore you can probably just check if the cables are pind in right sockets and that the Speackers are getting power. As far drivers are concerned the Speakers do not have any drivers but the sound card does, therefore if you have not installed the drivers of sound card you may install them now. This may solve the problem hope fully

Creative 5.1 sound card not supported by WinXP and up

It might be true, since the sound card was made for the Win9k kernel. It differs from NT Kernel in the core. The 9k kernel's core is MS-DOS and the NT Kernel has it's very own core. Usually 95/98/ME software does work in XP and if it doesn't, can be updated to a newer version. But hardware is a different thing. You should first check if there's an updated version of your driver for Windows XP, but I prefer to a hardware problem, since two of the speakers work and the others don't. I recommend buying a new sound card if there isn't an updated version of your driver.

I have an Dell Dimension E510 running windows XP. I have 5.1 surround sound speakers that were working fine until recently. Only 2 speakers work; left and right. None of the others have sound. I have...

Reinstall the software for the sound system, this should redetect the speakers properly as 5.1 surround sound speakers.

If you do this and it still doesn't work then the speakers are bad and your sound system would need to be replaced.

Speakers not working

It may be cause of some problems, at first you should find that what's the source of this problem,so I suggest you some ways:
1. Plug in other speakers to your pc, if it works so the source of problem comes from your speakers and you should fix it, and if it doesn't work, too, it means that your PC and your Sound Card has a problem.
2. If source of problem comes from your PC, be sure that you installed your sound card driver.
3. After you installing sound driver, maybe the problem will terminate! if not, I suggest you reinstall your OS.
Note: You could find your sound card driver by a simple search through Google or Yahoo and find your driver.
Good luck

Speakers work for just a second when windows starts up

Try to uninstall the sound card, shut your pc off, take the sound card off, attach it again and turn on the pc. Then reinstall the drivers and see whether the same problem occurs or not.

Thanks,
Mary
