Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Help me please
E74 refers to an error with either the GPU or your av cable
first try switching out av cables if that doesnt work then send it back to microsoft for repairs
if you want to try to fix it yourself try this
Since your AV cable is good, then it definately is your Scaler chip. The only way that you can fix this is if you take your xbox360 apart and resolder the GPU to the motherboard. Now theres about 50 different tutorials out there on how to take your case apart but I found that this tutorial is the best... its straight forward and includes pictures:
Okay, your xbox is apart. Next, your going to have to remove the x-clamps and GPU. Then you are going to have to resolder the GPU to the motherboard by overheating your GPU. llamma also has a really good write up on this as well. They also sell the tools that you will need, and the washers and bolts you will need.
Once you've resoldered your GPU, then you might want to consider installing a CPU fan on your outside case to prevent your xbox from overheating in the future. As of now, you cannot buy the new GPU heatsinks which have the heatpipe technology, so this is the best thing to do for the voided xbox's.

SOURCE: xbox 360 e74 error
Having the e-74 code is when the video chip on the 360 over heats and becomes un soldered your best bet is to turn the 360 on with a towel over it and wait for 3 red lights the call microsoft and tell them the 3 lights issue dont mention the 1 light or it will cost you dearly around 150$

this might be a hardware failure. try turning it off then back, or try keeping a fan on it when you play on and if that doesn't work call 1800myxbox there you'll find step by step instructions to send it down to texas and get it fixed. if that happens three times you will recieve a brand new xbox 360 that has that problem fixed. also keep in mind to keep your hard drive before you send it to be fixed. i really hope this helps with your problem

you should just basically call the microsoft company that would help a whole lot, and maybe it could be a ring of death but yeah just call them up.
