maybe your tv is old. If your tv was from goodwill or you had it for a long time....that might happen.if ya just bought it from a store that is not like goodwill nvm.

I have bought my last 4 cords at the Goodwill Store by my house for $1.99. It is on the cord rack near the back of the store for most stores.

You will have to reinstall the OS (operating system) which could be costly because I doubt it came with recovery CD, you could ask for people from goodwill to help you out.

Check with your local Goodwill store. they might have set the password from their store. If not, then since the system is new, you can just reset it back to factory image.

Restart your computer and when you see the Dell logo, keep tapping F8. Select "Repair Your Computer". It will give you options how to recover your system to factory image. Otherwise, if you're required to type the password since you don't knows it, you might end up re-installing the Operating system.
