Pushed the tractor out of the garage after pulling the transmission release. Now the tractor's transmission is locked when I started it and tried to put into gear. The wheels will not unlock.

1st ensure the release lever is fully reengaged. Then check to see if the brake is releasing. The brake is on the right side of the transaxle and you can tap it with a small hammer or watch it to ensure it is releasing when someone works the clutch/brake pedal. You can gain easier access to the brake by removing the right drive tire, just be sure that you do not loose the key way for the axle to wheel.

Mower wont move forward or backwards and makes a ticking noise when pushed.

Just a thought , maybe the key that locks the pulley to the input shaft on top of the transmission has sheared and the pulley is just spinning on the shaft or the key on the axle shaft that locks the wheel to the axle and that would allow the brakes not to work.

How do you get the transmission to lock

Many have a lever at the rear that can be used to disconnect the tranny so it can be pushed or pulled .

Mower starts and runs but will not move forward or back

If it is hydrostatic, the release lever is probably pulled. This allows it to be pushed or pulled. This little release is usually located low on the rear of the tractor. Make sure that the little wire hook is not pulled out and hooked.

Brought riding mower into the garage thru a side door, after that back wheels locked up would not start after that ?

try bringing it in the front door but I don't think that will fix the problem. if the wheels are locked up there is a safety switch that will not let it start if the trans is in gear

Transmission Locked up on Poulan Pro 18 hp

Is this a riding lawn tractor with a snow blower attachment? If so, I would inspect drive belt underneath unit to see if it slipped off and is locked up. If belts look ok, try pulling hydro release to see if you can push unit. If not your problem sounds internal.

Wiring harness

look underneath did drive belt snap in two , rear has white plastic fan on top of it that should be rotating with engine running if not yep you broke a belt , don't know about wire could it be from front PTO they are electric so it will need a wire ,one possibility is that drive belt broke slapped front PTO and broke off wire , that musta been some snow your pushin ooh and a reminder never push a hydrostatic drive tractor without pump turning it will dammage it

Gear release lock on Cub Cadet GT1225

Does the unit function ( tranny ) normally otherwise? If not, then the tranny is locked. You have broken a gear tooth at a minimum in the tranny and it is locking the tranny gears.

Auto transmission will not engage

If you haven't already done so, reach up under the rear of the tractor and locate the release rod where it goes into the transaxle and make sure that it isn't stuck from sitting. Pull and push the release lever rod at the back a couple of times observing that it does indeed go in and out of the transaxle. You can try tapping it lightly with the lever in drive position to see if it goes in any further after you put it back into the drive position just don't hit it so hard as to bend or break anything

Rear Wheels won't move on riding mower when off and in neutral

Sounds like the pins/dowels in your brake caliper have gotten dirty and/or rusty and are not releasing all the way. When I had my shop, we found a lot of these and I or my mechanics pulled and cleaned them then took a drill 1/64th larger than the pin/dowel and ran it through the holes in the caliper, NO MORE PROBLEMS!

Tractor has been sitting for awhile, transmission

old oil in motor & may be too level too low aswell
condensation or moisture has probably got to the cylinder bores & bearings etc!
my guess would be it has locked up !
try lubricting the cylinders & rocking the cranckshaft as this can sometimes free them up
but i doubt if it will be in any condition to use even if you get it freed up & maybe even started again!!
best bet would be to strip it down & recondition it!
Cheers Rob
