Question about Husqvarna Viking 1

No power for viking 1+

It was sewing just fine. I stopped for dinner and went back and now machine is getting no power. I changed outlets, turned off and on several times, unplugged and still get nothing!! Could it be the power cord needs replacing?? I love my machine and I have a deadline to meet!!

My husband was sewing with my Huskystar 207 and struggled with getting the tension right. I got it adjusted correctly for him and he finished his project. A few days later I needed to sew something and nothing happens--no light comes on, no hum, no movement NOTHING. My husband reports that he didn't experience any odd behavior once I got him over his tension problems;no strange noises, no stalling. I tried different electrical outlets, tried unplugging and re-plugging the power cord several times. nothing happens. I am distraught--this is my livelihood.

I'm going to assume "by no power" you mean the light doesn't come on and the machine won't run. If this is the case you might want to unplug the cord from the machine and plug it back in. If this solves your problem , GREAT. If not, you have either a burned out fuse or a bad circuit board which means you need to get it to a good mechanic who can get Viking parts.

I was sewing a seam machine was working fine after sewing for 5 minutes then the motor stopped.

the motor needs to be checked to see if it went out.
it's not good for a sewing machine to sit up for years. and a cloth cover needs to be used to keep the dust off the machine.

In the middle of sewing a seam this #1 plus machine faded out on power (like it ran out of gas). I cannot turn back on and is "dead". Any suggestions would be greatly appreciates as I have a deadline to...

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the power supply went out. suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.

When I turn on my machine the needlehousing judders and stops at extreem left position and ERROR #1 comes up on screen

The temperature in the room the machine was at 28c and humidity was at 85%.

Switched aircon on and went out to dinner. Came back two/three hours later. Temperature was down to 23c and humidity to 30%.

Plugged machine back in and it worked straight off.

Seems the machine does not like high temp and high humidity.

When I turned on my viking 980, the power went on for a moment and then went completely dead. Checked that outlet has power, all connections are made securely.

More than likely it blew the fuse in the transformer, although it is fairly easy to replace this fuse it is important to find out why it blew. The transformer is under the machine and held in place by 4 screws. Take this out and ease the transformer out, it will still be hooked to the connecting wires just gently disconected them. Once you open the transformer you will see a small fuse, you can take it to radio shack and get an EXACT replacement.

Machine stopped running, its getting power but wont run.

I would take it back to your service tech or choose another. It may be something simple that needs replacement, like a new cord. (or . . .)

Also, before thinking of buying a new machine, I would get another opinion.

Viking Designer 2 service mode

Hold down the start/stop button and the presser foot pivot button at the same time and turn the power on. You may need to try it a few times.
Hope that helps.

I filled the Bobbin, now how do I get it to go back to sewing

Something didn't click back in place when you removed the bobbin from the winding mechanism. Try winding another bobbin. Make sure it stops, then remove it. If the problem continues, take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer. They should still be able to take a look at it. Check Husqvarna Viking website for dealer closest too you.

sounds like the motor belt came off the machine, your description makes that sound exactly like what the problem is.
