Question about Acer AL2216WBD LCD Monitor

ACER AL2216W shuted down

Dear Colleague:
I don't have any schema or info about that model. I live in Rio Grande,Tierra del Fuego,Argentina. The set were in normal use and suddenly shuted down.
I found a blowed picofuse in the power supply PCB.( 3.15A) replaced it and again blown. Then I inserted a 150Watt lamp in series with mains, took off the switching FET. It glows near to maximum and the switching trafo makes a loud noise, --(┬┐without the FET?) could be so? I'm afraid to connect direct to mains in order to avoid a short with collateral damage.
Please be so kind to advise me where to find a circuit, schema or any info to fix the fail.
many thanks for your time

I had a similar experience to yours with my AL2223W. I found this site helpful in replacing my backlight inverter - http://www.instructables.com/id/Replace-LCD-Backlight-Inverter-on-Any-Monitor-for-/
Hope this helps,

Acer shut down

ok go to control panel, then power options and check that the option states that when you press the shutdown button, it powers down. You also may need to check inthe bios (F2 or Del on boot up) and go to standard cmos settings or the advanced cmos settings and see if ACPI is enabled, if not enable, then save settings and exit and a reboot will follow.
