The F11 code means that the CCU (central control board) and MCU (motor control board) aren't communicating properly. This can be caused by poor contacts between the wires in the wiring harness and one of the boards. Someone reported a simple fix of carefully adding solder to thicken the contact area on the board where the wiring harness plugs onto the board.
First unplug the washer. You need to check the wiring for any broken conductors. Try wiggling the wiring harness on both sides to see if that helps the connection stabilize. If wiggling works, then the solder solution may work. Warning: make sure to keep the new layer of solder directly on top of the previous contacts. If the solder spreads sideways, you can short the unit. Otherwise, the solution is to replace the CCU. If that doesn't solve the error, Whirlpool recommends replacing the MCU.
If you add the model number for your washer, I may be able to point you to the parts list. I hope this helps.
Since you did not mention the model number to your washer or whether it is a top or side load washer, I have attached a youtube video for you to watch to get the general idea of how to gain access to the control board on top-loader whirlpool washers; although it is not specific to the part number you are replacing. Repair clinic offers self-help videos on side load washers as well in case yours is a side loader.I hope this helps.
F70 is a communication error
which is caused when no communication is detected from the user interface to
the CCU (central control unit). Please check the wiring to user interface and
the central control unit, if that is fine and you can see the drum rotating
then replacing the user interface is recommended repair. If the drum won't turn
then the CCU needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other
I would normally suggest a water control valve malfunction but you are experiencing NO water at all and I would doubt both valves would fail at the same time. So we need to diagnose further. Put it direct onto a (cold) rinse and see if water goes in then. If it does then it's the hot water control valve which needs replacing and a Service call ;-0(
If there still is no water going in at all I would suspect the control PCB which needs replacing or a wiring problem - and a Service call ;-0(;-0(
first you nead to unplug the dryer.next you nead to remove the lint filter and remove the two screws that are under it.now grab the top on both sides and pull it forward and up.roll top back and let it lay on back wall.look between the drum and the frount panal and remove the two 5/16 screws one on both sides.next pull the frount panal forward 6"and pull up on the frount panal.rotate the frount panal and let it rest on the side of the dryer.you do not nead to remove the wires from the door switch.next look under dryer drum and you should see the old belt.remove the belt.next place the new belt over top of drum, next with your left hand grab the frount top of the drum and lift it about 2"and with your right hand grab the drum belt and feed it under the drum.2/3 the way back.next lay down in frount of dryer and look under the drum.you will see that the idler assembly neads to be reinastaled in the slot in frount of motor.with your right hand hold the idler assembly and with your left hand you nead to feed the drum belt thrugh the idler assembly and over the moter pully.next you nead to replace the frount panal to the two clips one on each side at the bottom.next with your left hand push back on the drum and with your right hand push the frount panal forward and set the drum with the frount panal and replace the two 5/16 screws.next lower the top panal and replace the two screws and the lint filter.plug the dryer in and test unit out.
HI, this is a common issue that is easily fixed by, replacing the control unit. this control manages the motor functions during operations. if this unit is not spinning correctly, replace the Control unit. aka(motor control unit).
In you washer, they call the motor control board a (Control Unit). replace this asap if possible. this will fix your washer.
ADDITIONAL CHECKS--(Make sure that this unit is also draining water properly as well. this will cuase wet spin outs as well).
Starting to see these fault codes pop up in these otherwise fine machines. The F/11 code
is just a generic code generated when there’s a communications error
between the two main control boards in the washer. These two boards are
the motor control unit(MCU) and the central control unit(CCU).
A common problem is the wiring harness jiggling loose; remove and
reseat it and that usually fixes it. If not, then you’re looking at
spending some money on control boards. Yes, I said boards, plural. The
really sucky part is that there’s no way to definitively and
conclusively prove which board, the MCU or the CCU, is at fault so,
unfortunately, that only leaves the parts changing monkey method: replace both boards,
But, on a brighter note, the electronics are covered under warranty
for 24 months. If your machine is older that this, then you’ll need to
shell out some shekels
it will be up in the panel that the cold control is mounted to the celing in the fresh food section,
remove the knobs for the freezer and the ref side
remove the frount plate that tells you how cold the settings for each side of the ref are
remove the 1/4 screws in the frount of the panel, and the ones in the rear of the panel
there you will find the cold contol
