Question about Crown CE2000 2-Channel Amplifier

1 Answer

I have a Crown XLS 1000 running in stereo highpass mode. Can't get any output on channel 2. Can't get any output on channel 2 in any mode. Checked amp at store, everything worked perfectly. Any ideas?

Swapped cables. Second speaker works fine on both cables going out. Both cables coming from mixer to amp are delivering signal. Both meters on amp show signal activity, but no output on channel 2. I've tried every combination of cable hookups I can think of, going out and in to the amp. Going out of channel 1 (speakon) I have sound to either speaker with either cable. Going out of channel 2, nothing on either cable or speaker. I'm wondering if my problem lies with channel 1 out and the wiring of the speakon connecter. If the speakon connector going to channel 1 is 4 wired, does that make the amp think that channel 1 is carrying a stereo signal and is cutting off the channel 2 output?

Make sure you are getting a signal into channel 2, A cable swap will tell you this.

Solved own problem. Swapped the NLF4C speakon with NLF2C, no more problem.

That was my next idea was to try a speakon 2 cable. I love Speakon cables but te can be a pickle at times. I use Speakon 4 Cables my self as I use one amp for my Woofers and another for my horn's or Biamping. I come out of the Amps with Speakon 2 to a J Box and out to the Speaker with Speakon 4's from the J box. So my J box has 4 in and 2 out to the Byamped Speakers.

I have a crown xls602 with no audio. Speaker and power relays activates normally, signal leds palpitates with input but no sound. Appreciate any help. Thank ou.

- Use your favourite search engine (Webcrawler is dandy) and type your question/info into it.
- SEARCH ENGINES ARE YOUR FRIEND!!! Type in keywords and check the results.

- I'm not an expert but it almost sounds like maybe a speaker relay or whatever on the amp has bailed out.

Good Luck :)

How do you "bridge" a d.j. 2 channel power amp? it

Very carefully... SInce the outputs are not specified as isolated, your speakers would be connected across the hots and the returns would be jumpered.
Then for the two inputs you would drive them balanced into the XLR connectors from a single balanced source and reverse pins 2 and 3 in ONE of the connectors of this Wye cable into one of the two inputs on the amp.

I have a crown 602 channel 2 shows signal coming in, but no volume comes out. Yet when its bridge it seems to put out more power than just one chanel. Not sure where to start looking into the #2 channel...

Common problem. Power transistor in channel#2 is weak or out completely.
Bridging converts from 2 channel(stereo) to mono and you are are useing both channels in series to effectivley double your output.

I would not recomend disconnecting the fans. They might be running to keep a certain heat sensitive (and perhaps expensive) part cool. However it could be the case that the fan speed control circuit has developed a fault, therefore the fans are running too fast.

No power to Crown XLS 602 Amplifier

Hi...

There may be some internal fuses on that unit.

You can open it by taking the cover off and looking for fuses and discolored parts.

It may have a thermal fuse on the power transformer which then will require service
