Any solutions? I just recently found the same thing - green tube like pieces floating in the glass. Looks like they line the water tube somewhere and break off when dispensing water.

I have a Kenmore side by side with the same problem. Disgusting slime that cuts loose from the line and gets in the ice and the water dispenser water. My water is fed from a reverse osmosis water filter system which also feeds a dispenser at the sink. The water at the sink is crystal clear so I know that this problem is refrigerator specific (generated within the fridge). My theory is that it may be "matter" cutting loose from the refrigerator filter since the tubing full of slime is after this filter. I just bypassed the filter at the bottom of the refrigerator so I am no longer using it - since my water is already coming from an R.O. system. I will have to wait and see if this clears up the problem. If it doesn't clear up the problem, the slime is forming in the tube. But what would cause that? I'm interested in your solutions let me know.

The water quality is really bad, you should change your filter often even the big water filter from your main line, need to change it after 4 to 5 months.

There is an accumulation of ice on the bottom of the freezer...model #KSRD22F..any suggestions?

you have a blocked drain, shut off the control to the fridge so the fan doesn't blow, take out the racks and remove the inside back wall of freezer, melt out the ice with a hair dryer, now you have to unblock the drain,i use a steamer to do this, you can get one for around 50 bucks, they have alot of other uses, good tool to have, stick the nozzle in the drain hole and blast it,the steam will sanitize the line and clean out whatever is in the drain, when you think it's clear pour hot water down drain to make sure it's clear.a piece of food or other stuff could have fallen into the drain or slime builds up in the line over the years

Ice guide replacement for Kenmore side by side

if the clog is soft, kind of slimmy, you can remove the water line and flush it with white vinagar and water mixed, blow thru the line to push the slime out - if hard scale, you will need to use pure vinagar and soak the line to disolve the deposits.

I don't even know if this is possible on your machine but see if you can get bleach into your water intake port, if the green slime still shows up you may need to contact your board of health because it sounds as if the problem is your incoming water and you may need to have your water company clean their pipes or even replace them, did you perchance loose water pressure before the slime became a problem?

you have a clogged defrost drain located in the freezer,u can shut the refrigerator off with doors open for 24 hours to allow the drain inlet to thaw on its own,if problem reoccurs within 1 week chances are you will need a technician to install a drain heater kit

Rv a/c drain water becomes slime

Use a shop vac( wet/dry vaccum) and as you clean the coils use the vaccum to remove the slime and debris. This slime is caused by particles in the air that has been drawn into the coil during a/c usage. To prevent this slime from continuing to build up you can use a tablespoon of bleach and pour it into the drainage pan this will kill all the algae producing bacteria and will keep your a/c condensate drain in tip top shape. Hope this helps Good Luck
