Trunking systems are frequently modified and updated by the users, so your fire channels may have just relocated within the system. Before you run out and buy a new scanner, visit www.RadioReference.com to check the latest information on your area's trunking systems.

Cant pick up stations

Most police stations are using the new motorola trunking units, they are on encrypted custom band channels and you will not be able to hear them. All police helicopters are equipped with them. All i can hear where i live is Fire dispatch, I cant even hear the fire fighters responses .

I have PRO-2033 Radio Shack scanner, where can I get police & fire codes for this in Philadelphia, PA area

For a comprehensive database of active frequencies (they're not codes) in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit:
www.RadioReference.com

The Philadelphia area has likely moved to trunked radio systems in the 800MHz band, and your scanner is not capable of receiving such signals, so you'll be limited in what you can tune in with your PRO-2033.

Will the pro 97 receive Motorola Project 25 Phase (FDMA)?

NO. Sorry, but the PRO-97 is an analog trunking scanner, and it is not capable of receiving any digital signals. For more information on this scanner, you can download and print the factory manual, at no cost, here:

Is the pro 2055 digital ?

The PRO-2055 is a versatile conventional/trunking scanner, but it does not have the capability to monitor APCO-25 digital transmissions. For an operating manual that is "Easier To Read" than the factory operating instructions, follow this link:

TUNING

no there are no adjustments, you need to check to make sure tha tthe pro-95 you have is compatible with the trunking system in your area, i have the same problem with my pro-97 problem is just the codec that they use is too new for one of my scanners and the only way to listen in is to have the radio scan all output channels that arent control channels or transmitting all time

Pro-97 scanner recieving problem

try going to a urban area and scanning the NOAA band. if that works your programming is wrong and there is nothing wrong with your AM/FM base band. also the BNC antenna connector on the inside is notorious for breaking away from the board, nothing a little solder cant handle. Also make sure your local freq's are not Digital
