Thanks for the advice. It sounds promising but I am wondering if this noise happens periodically or happens all of the sudden because it never happened before but it all of the sudden doesn,t work at all. Every setting on the control dial doesnt even want to start except for the periodic time, the the cycle starts but shuts itself off within a few seconds. I called Frigidare

I have A frigidare front load washer model # LTF294oeso & was advised to replace the control panel which I just did but doesn't solve the problem. Every cycle from the control knob will start but within 3 to 4 seconds the machine will shut down. If I press start after stalling the display will flash 3 times Err & 3 beeps. In the trouble shooting Error codes it states 3 beeps senses problems of " Inlet valve, pressure switch or control board failure." Due to "drum overfilled" Solution supposedly is "Do not open door, select drain/spin to remove water, restart cycle." Does a faulty pressure switch or inlet valve cause the machine to shut down on every operation? Thanks, Dave

Would all the cycles breifly start if the door lock is faulty?

  • dsmith33832 Oct 16, 2010

Thanks for you recommendation no one from frigidare or on-line about pushing both start & cancel buttons together. The code that comes on the display is E5E followed by 5 beeps. In my manual I have an Error code chart that says 5 beeps means the motor is overheated & the solution is to wait 30 minutes for motor to cool down. Apparently that isn't the solution giving it's been cooling for over a week. I asked frigidare way back if there was a sensor for the motor that may be faulty but they said no. So I believed it wasn't the motor because each cycle briefly starts which I was thinking the motor was required to start the cycle, but as I said within 2-3 seconds it stalls & approximately every minute the cycle is on it starts again for the 2-3 second period. Thanks & I look forward to a response, unfortunately we are leaving Florida & driving to Pa. for a family emergency, but I will check my E-mail by Monday or tuesday. Thanks Again! Dave

The machine doesn't start and flashes "Err" because a failure is detected. The failure code must be determined to know where and what the problem is, The code can be displayed by pressing any button to wake the machine then press the START and PAUSE/CANCEL button simultaneously. The failure code will appear in the display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. Post back the failure for further troubleshooting advise.

Yesit will but will eventually stop. Read the error code and post back for accurate troubleshooting.

The code means communication communication problem between the control board and the motor speed control board. Disconnect power then check and make sure the wiring harness that connects the two are intact and the connectors are clean and fully inserted to both. Reseat the connections several times to ensure a good connection. The harness is connected to connectors J1 and J6 on the control board and connectors J1 and J3 on the motor speed control board.

Once done with the harness inspection and connection and the problem is not addressed, disconnect the motor harness from the motor speed control board (J5) the reconnect power and start the machine. Compare how the machine operates when the motor is connected and when it is not then read the error code when it stops and post it back. The next thing you should do is disconnect connectors from terminals J1 and J3 on the control board and do the same.

This could be a bad door lock. My guess it it is not sending confirmation to the control.
Here is a link to a service manual for your machine as well as a ton of videos showing how to access components: Frigidaire service manuals

Cycle Not Advancing or Timer Stalling Symptoms Update :---

One root cause of washer stalling in cycle (timer not advancing) on horizontal axis washers is electrical noise generated primarily by the timer contacts opening and closing which can interfere with proper operation of the speed control board. At times, depending on ambient environmental conditions, this electrical noise can cause the motor controller board to receive corrupt signals and remain on 'stand by condition' resulting in the cycle not advancing. By manually advancing the timer to the next step in the cycle or by turning the washer's power off and on, the electrical noise is discharged and the washer will perform until electrical noise may happen to interfere once again.

To resolve this issue, three jumpers have been added to the current motor controller board to reduce electrical noise levels around the microprocessor. Testing has proven this change to the board significantly reduces occurrence of control lock-up. The newest motor controller board assembly is Part Number 134149220.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. As the water is not draining and clicking is coming from the bottom so the issue seems to be with the drain pump solenoid.
Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn't working properly, the drain pump isn't working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home's drain lines. First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. If you have checked the drain hose and can't locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher. If you have already checked the drain hose/pump and still the issue is not resolved then it is the Timer that is bad and should be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

With a model #. I can see if this is that style.
