Unable to install my Web camera on my laptop that has the (awful) operative system Windows Vista Basic. I have been trying to enter the web site for Genius in Taiwan and was unable to do so. What can I do? Please, I bought both the camera and the laptop in order to communicate with my daughters and granchildren who live in France and since the month of February I am stuck with this problem. Could someone please help not a damsel but a granny in distress?
Thank you very much
Simple! I changed the camera to my other laptop, equipped with Windows XP. <I really don't understand why Microsoft had to change the OS... since the last one had no problems at all and Vista does not offer anything new

Hi, you can transfer the files to your computer, you just can't use the camera's VideoCam editing software. However, you can still view the movies and photos taken by the camera using standard Windows programs.
Excuseme If I don't explain so clair, because I don't speak english well, but let me try that I did to solve this problem. First I installed a Virtual Machine(VMware Workstation 6.5.1) in miy Pc(64 bits) . Second, I installed a Windows Vista home basic(32 bits) or Windows XP Sp2 (32bits) on it., depending of what Operative sistem do you have in your real machine. And finally I could installed the Videocam suit in the Virtual Machine and everything was ok. I could transfer all my videos of the camera to the pc very easy The only inconvenient is that you need to transfer the videos downloaded of the virtual machine to the real machine with a flash memory or similar something.
I spoke to a technician at Panasonic. He said the problem is the 64bit Vista. It may run with the 32bit version, if gives trouble there is a patch update under Global Support/consumerproducts (digital AV window updates) at Panasonic web page. It will work with new Windows 7.
