Question about Eizo CG301W Monitor

Open Question

I recently purchased an EIZO CG301W monitor. When I connected this monitor to my computer (running Windows XP with a Radeon 4650 video card) the image at a resolution of 2650 X 1600) was certainly not sharp. Could you please send me a list of video cards that will produce a sharp image at a resolution of 2650X1600. Do you have any other suggestions for improving the resolution?

SOURCE: Eizo color edge 241W is the monitor. It starts up

pencilstudio, The electronics inside the monitor will need some work!! You will NOT fix with strokes to your keyboard!! And besides that, YOU'RE using your head!!! Most BLACK screen users fail to even try to verify the PC's VGA port with another KNOWN GOOD monitor!!! What you need to do is the flashlight test (trick) to evaluate the state of the units "switch-mode-power-supply". Reconnect 241W to a knowngood port that is sending WIN-desktop to monitor. Then and only then "turn-on" the 241W . Note how long you see the desktop for , before the LCD psnel goes to BLACK!! Then POINT bright flashlight 1 inch from screen and note if you can still see a very FAINT image of the desktop.. SEE= SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. NO SEE= SMPS in full shutdown. In any case, unit will need work done on it. If unit is still in warranty then have them fix it. If warranty not an option, then you or someone will need to do the work. Your monitor WORKS!!! Just not LONG enough!!! It can possibly be repaired with about $8.00 in parts, and you are capable of handling the labor part. Read some of my other responses to the more than 130 other BLACK SCREEN lcd owners. Follow the LEADS to other websites that will help you make the decision to do a DIY or to farm out the work as cheap as possible. DO THE RESEARCH FIRST. Then if you still are stuck for a solution, come back to fixya and make additional comment to this posting. 12fixlouie

Pixelated appearance

Hello Anon, it seems you may be looking at a driver conflict here. Setting up this project is easy; bring in a second monitor and prepare to swap between the two frequently.

1. On the Eizo's menu initiate the self calibration.
2. When the Eizo completes the self calibration and the Pixelation persists, uninstall all the Graphic Card drivers on your computer.
3. Install the manufacturer's specific graphics card drivers from the manufacturers website.
4. If the monitor continues to be pixelated then ensure that your GC is 4k ready. (That it can natively display 2560x1440 @ 16:9 aspect ratio).

I suspect your Graphics Card is not up to par, it likely has full 1080 but not enough to push 4k as your monitor natively runs. Purchase any GC with a 4k ready capacity and you will enjoy the full beauty of your purchase.

When i install my ATi radeon HD 4650 AGP card on motherboard the monitor does not boot. But when i connect the monitor cable to the onboard video card it boots well. Why

Depending on the OS you are running. Check to make sure that the device drivers were installed correctly while plugged in to the on board.

To do this on Windows:
open Device Manager by right clicking My Computer and clicking properties. From there you can click Device Manager (if on XP click on Hardware Tab).

Once there, you should see a selection that reads Display Adapterslogicaldemen.jpg

If it is installed correctly it should look like the one above (substituting in the ATI card)
If you see it and it has an ! or flag you need to update or install the drivers which you can get from

Hope this helps

Monitor says "No signal" after restarting a few times. Using a DVI cable on a ATI Radeon 4650

swap your monitor with a working monitor. If same problem happens, then the problem is your CPU or your video card
