How to open up a Bissell Powersteamer 1695

Not spraying so I think the pump is shot (it does hum). I've got the lower front part open but cannot get open the middle part to expose the main guts. I've taken out all visble screws but don't want to force anything. Is there a schematic anywhere?

Thanks,

Paul

Wow great advice. Most of the screws take a bit of searching but I never would have though of peeking down the ends of the latch clips. Important note for pumps not working: I pulled the tiny motor away from the plastic pump and noticed it hummed but the shaft would not spin. It was seized with a some corrosion and **** so I took a pair of pliers and rotated the shaft on the motor a few times to work it loose, and now it works perfectly. I added a drop of fine oil to the bushings on the ends of the shaft as well.

    Thanks again.

About the only thing you might try is putting a mix of vinegar and water and see if it will open things up. Your model, Bissell has obsoleted all parts, so the pump is not available anymore. But there are 2 screws, take off the 2 latches, at the end is a hole to take out a screw.

I have a Bissell powersteamer proheat. The problem is that the unit will no longer spray water/cleaner out of the bottom of the unit.

Check to see if water will squirt out of the hose, if it does, then take the handle apart, the heater may be clogged. Once you get to the heater, take off the 2 water lines, dig out the clog, try to blow thru the heater to make sure it is open, then put back together. Otherwise it could be the belt, pump, seal not in place on the bottom of the tank or a clogged water line.
