Question about Chamberlain Powerdrive PD422D 1/2 HP Security Plus Screw Drive Garage Door Opener

1 Answer

Chamberlain garage door opener won't close

I just bought a house with a chamberlain whisper drive garage door opener. It was working fine until the emergency release was pulled while the door was in the open position. Now the door will open without a problem but the door seperates from the drive track when closing. The door stays in a semi open position while the drive track continues on the path. If we manually lower the door, the door will reconnect with the drive track to open properly (the emergency release is returned to the closed position.) Does this sound like something I should get a professional to look at?

One sensor should always be yellow, the other should be SOLID green.
If the lights are not consistently SOLID, you have a sensor issue.
TEST: If the door closes completely by pressing and holding down the wall pad button, you have a sensor problem.

Check to make sure the are aimed properly at each other.
Check the wire at the sensor and more importantly at the machine (If the wires are loose at the machine (terminals) it can cause this problem. Remember the machine does shake a lot.
If the wires are good, the sensors are aimed correctly, you have a sensor issue and need to loacte a replacement set.

My Chamberlian Whisper Drive 1/2 Hp opener has an issue. My motion sensor back light blinks and the factory supplied remote does not work now. Help.

You wall control is in lock mode sounds like press and hold the lock button for 3 to 4 seconds that should take care of that problem.

Alleejr your problem is not the same and ill need little more info. Where is the red light on your wall control? If its on the way up its not your sensors at all. Is your spring broke?
