I have no picture on my Sanyo Dp32746 LCD tv, the audio works fine. I replaced the backlight inverter board, but still no picture. Tried the reset button on the remote, can not see the main menu to try to adjust brightness, any ideas? Thanks, Glen Raisor.

SMPS transformer on board is bad. It has core loose.

This problems the two long circuit boards called the inverter board is dead.These two long inverter boards give ur tv a screen light called a backlight that where ur tv getting it light for the tv images.Take ur tv a parts and replaced these two long inverter boards.U will get ur tv picture back.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those two long refurbish inverter boards for the replacement.

Did you chaeck first to find out if the power supply is putting out 24vdc for the inverter board, and also if the inverter is getting the backlight_on signal from the main board.

Sanyo is cheaply made TV, but then again, most LCD TV last about 2~3 years before breaking down.
You need to check out the power supply and the inverter board.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

If the inverter board is bad, I would suggest that you replace the whole board unless you have a SMD (Surface Mounted Device) rework station, and a background in electronics. I have worked on TVs where people have tried to remove SMDs and it never is an easy thing to do, so I would again suggest that you replace the whole board, because all of the components are SMDs.

Now as to your question, I have seen on these sets the majority of the time it is a driver transistor that goes bad.

change the backlight

Easy way to Diagnose is get a known good CCFL from a laptop or LCD TV and start plugging it in to the existing Cathode's Ports one at a time. Generally its a bad CCFL on these multiple units.. (2,4,6) Bulbs.. Moniserv.com for replacements.
