Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Not draining goes through the cycle but is not draining. I have pulled the filter, cleaned it. Took off the drain hose from the new garbage disposal amd tried to syphin out the water no luck. I have not pulle the dishwasher yet. It just started to do this ands we just had to replace the garbage disposal. Might this have caused the garbage disposal to burn out as well?

Solve will not drain problem

Disconnect the drain hose from your garbage disposal and see if it will drain into a bucket. If it does, how is the flow? Is it just a trickle or a good flow? If it's a good flow, then you have an obstruction in your garbage disposal. If it's a new garbage disposal, did you (or your installer) remember to knock out the plug that's at the end of that drain port???

Whirlpool dishwasher F8 E1 error

You have a blockage in the drain line someplace. If you have a garbage disposer, check to see that it is clear where the dishwasher connects to it. Also check and make sure that the drain hose is higher then the inlet to the disposer to prevent water draining back into the drain line from the disposer. If that's clear you have a blockage somewhere in the drainline. Best to unit from cabinet and check it

We bought a new dishwasher because the old one wasn't draining all the way. Same problem with the new one?

The pump is a motor which runs in one direction to spray water in the dishwasher to clean and the opposite direction to drain the water. The problem could be from a clog or kink in the drain hose. Several years ago the drain line would connect to the sink garbage disposal. If the garbage disposal is not draining or the dishwasher connection to the garbage disposal is restricted or clogged the dishwasher will not drain. Under the sink, look at the garbage disposal to see if a rubber hose is connected at the side of the disposal unit. If a hose is connected to the side of the disposal, remove the hose clamp and check for any restrictions from garbage in the inlet or hose. You can use a screwdriver to clean the fitting to the garbage disposal and a wire hanger to free any restrictions in the hose. If the dishwasher does not connect to the garbage disposal it should connect to the sink trap. This is more common with new dishwashers because they have built-in disposals. Disconnect the drain hose from the sink trap and the dishwasher and look for a clog at the sink connection. The dishwasher inlet should have an angled piece of plastic or metal facing downward to prevent the waste from the dishwasher from spraying up into the sink. Do not get to aggressive with the cleaning in order to prevent breaking the angled piece of plastic or metal. Look for any kinks in the hose and try to run water through the hose, but do not use the sink which you removed the drain line from or it could leak under the cabinet. If you see a bad kink replace the hose with a new one. I hope this works and you find the problem without a great deal of time or trouble.

Will not drain.Light flashes for aprox 30 sec then

If you have your user manual for the dishwasher than it will tell you what the code means. Youd garbage disposer is probable plugged up or was changed recently. Try taking off the drain hose that is under you sink that goes to the garbage disposer. Look at the disposer and see if the plug is punched out or not. To punch it out take a screwdriver and hit the end with a hammer inthe hole. It its not pluged, try blowing out the hose backwards with compressed air. Also all dishwashers have some sort of filter system that is accessable inside the machine. Thr taking that off and cleaning it.

Won't drain

Make sure the garbage disposal is clear so the water can exit. After that, you may have something caught in the drain hose or check valve. It would require removing the bottom kick plate to gain access to check.

Oe code on LG dishwasher following garbage disposal replacement

Hi. I just had the same trouble. Your garbage disposal comment there gave me an idea. The drain hose from your dishwasher likely goes to the garbage disposal and then out the drain. My hose had a little blockage at the joint where the hose goes into the disposal. I was able to clear it just by giving it a wiggle....all is well now.

Good luck.

The drain in to the garbage diposal is clogged.  Remove the drain hose from the dishwasher and clean the hose.  Also check the inlet to the garbage disposer and clena it.

Dishwasher not draining

I had water at the bottom of my 4 year old plus dishwasher and of course I thought the worst. Did the pump go out, bad impeller, or what else could it be! I started with the easy stuff first and disconnected the drain lines. The drain line runs from the dishwasher to an air gap mounted to my sink, which keeps the drain line from getting an airlock. From the air gap device another larger line runs to the garbage disposal. I used an 8MM wrench to loosen the clamps enough to pull the drain lines off and drained them into a bucket. There really wasn't any resistance to water flow and no real chunks, I was disappointed.
I then took the actual air gap out of the sink by removing a large plastic nut and pulling the devise out from underneath the sink. When I inspected the air gap I saw a wad of hairy, feathery plastic stuff blocking the flow of water. I took the chunk out, reassembled everything and it works like new again.
It is a very easy fix and now even the area under the sink is clean to boot.
