I checked and the ignition area is dry with no problem.
there are two big burners in the front. the two problems are all with these two.
    1. only the right burner is turned to simmer, the left burner starts clicking. when it is turned to regular like medium or small, then no clicking sound.
    2. the left burner ignition is good, the problem is it is always shut off automatically after being on for a couple of seconds. i think it is the gas that is being shut off. i know miele has an automatic gas shut off system. i don't know how to fix it.
other burners do not have this gas shut off problem.

    pls help. thx.

Will need the exact model no. of your Miele oven. Most likely it is time to replace the ignitor which must have turned leaky. Can you use a match stick to light the super burners? I am asuming the gas is running to the burners.

Pipe cleaners work very well for cleaning stove top igniters. Do not use any type of liquid cleaner, sandpaper, etc. in them.

Often times moisture collects on the sparker switches located on the gas valves. These are under the stoves top cover. They should have clear plastic covers on them but may not based on the stoves are.

To dry the moisture out of the switches, unplug the stove first. Then remove the knobs and lift the cover. Remove those clear plastic covers if equipped. Use a hairdryer to blow warm air onto the switches to warm them up and dry them out.

Be sure the electrical cord is plugged directly into a 3 wire grounded wall receptacle. The cord must not plugged into a two wire extension cord. appliance must be grounded thru the original cord.
Check the archives in this forum for other postings with this same problem for more information.

If all this fails, the electronic spark module may be defective and need replacement

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

We have a 6 burner, nat gas cooktop....all unit light but the igniter clicking will not stop...unplugged it . question: all mechanics are closed is this safe gaswise?

What happens in this style ignition system is that the thermostat or electronic control switches power to the oven ignitor and gas valve circuit which are connected in series (one after the other). As power flows through the ignitor it heats and draws current (measured in amperage). Once the oven ignitor draws a specific amount of current the oven valve opens to allow gas to flow to the oven burner where the glowing hot ignitor (glow bar) ignites it. Power must continually flow through the ignitor and oven gas valve for gas to be released into the oven burner to create a flame. Once the set temperature is achieved the control stops all power to the ignition circuit which causes the ignitor to dim and the oven gas valve to close, stopping any burner flame. Cycling on and off continues to maintain the specific temperature the control is set for.
