Clean inside the Vornado 215S Air Circulator Fan

Hi! The blades and the inside grills of my vornado 215S are filthy, all covered with greasy dust clumps. How can I get inside the grills to clean this machine? I don't want the kind of greasy, clumpy breeze we'd be getting from this now if we were to turn it on!

Thank you!

You can turn the unit around backwards and find three integrated clips holding the front cover on.I use a flathead screwdriver to disengage the clips and the front cover just slips out.
I use a vacuum and windes on thr blade surface.
saw your question and thought I'd chime in.
Good Luck!

SOURCE: I have a Vornado floor

On the model I have, the front grill just pulls off from the front; there are some tabs that you might need to release by pushing with a small screwdriver from the rear. After cleaning, just align the tabs and push it back in until they click back in and latch.

Fan is making squeeling noise when running.

After reading dozens of similar problems on here about the Vornado fans squealing (and rattling) it seems they are in need of some 3-in-1 oil for the bearings and any moving parts in and around the motor area.
Also good to keep the fan clean by wiping down and removing front grill and the fan blade...A high pressure duster or spray air canister for the motor body etc. should get out any dust inside the unit.
good luck!

I have an older Vornado 280B (it looks just like the current 730 series with the small stand). I've been able to remove the front grill & clean it and the blades, but now I'd like to remove the rear...

It's similar to the 600 and 700 series based on a picture of those compared to the 280b model I have. http://www.vornado.com/product-support/support/faq.aspx

HOW DOES THE SPRING RESEAT FROM BASE TO FAN ON VORNADO 750?

If the spring has a long tang and a short tang, the short tang goes under the clip that holds it down and the long tang goes between the stand and the back of the cowl. Tell me the model and I can send a pic of one assembled. Here is an image of a newer model 750 with the spring correctly installed. d9080401-0828-41f7-adc8-a32265f6077f.jpg
