This is usually the dryer coils have failed. They tend to fail as they heat up. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. Here is a video on replacing the dryer coils. If you need further help try this link for troubleshooting a gas dryer

Keep getting warning "check exhaust" on a new gas dryer. All exhaust is clear. What's going on?

The CHECK VENT duct blockage sensing system detects and alerts you to blockages in the duct work that reduce exhaust flow from the dryer. This light does not indicate any problems with your dryer. If this light blinks, it indicates that your home's exhaust system/duct work has a serious restriction

Every time the dryer is turned on, the CHECK FILTER LIGHT WILL BLINK, as a reminder to make sure the filter is clean. Always make sure the lint filter is clean before starting a new load; a clogged lint filter will increase drying times.

The Kenmore Elite dryer has a sensor that detects poor exhaust venting, and when it does, a light flashes on the control panel. This warning light does not include a mechanism to stop gas flow, but if it is allowed to flash for an extended period, poor venting may cause the dryer to overheat. As a result, a fuse might blow and disable the gas valve or ignitor. You can prevent this by diagnosing the reason for the flashing indicator light as soon as possible.

In many cases, LINT has built up somewhere in the exhaust pipes.

Check under the lint filter. Pull it out, look inside the slot it fits in, and clear all lint from this area.

Is it possible you have used the WRONG VENT MATERIAL?
Check your vent to make sure it is 4 inch rigid or semi-rigid metal ducting. If your venting is plastic or flexible foil, replace it before using the dryer.

Check your vent hood outside. You may have a restricted or damaged vent hood. It must be clean and free of lint buildup. Check the damper and make sure it opens fully and easily and is free of lint.

I know you said you have no elbows, but I have posted the pipe run lengths with and without elbows. Keep in mind this is with 4 inch rigid or semi rigid metal ducting.

Measure the length of your exhaust system and count the elbows. Use the chart below to see if your duct is too long. If it is too long, have the duct routed to another location that is within the venting guidelines.

0~90 degree elbows=65 ft of 4 inch rigid metal duct.
1~90 degree elbow=55 ft of 4 inch rigid metal duct.
2~90 degree elbows=47 ft """"""""
3~90 degree elbows=36 ft """"""""
4~90 degree elbows=28 ft """"""""

You should always use duct tape or metal tape on all joints, NEVER USE SCREWS, as screws capture lint inside the pipe.

One more note. Lots of people overlook the fact that fabric softeners can build up on the lint filter over time. This buildup can restrict the airflow through the filter reducing dryer efficiency and lengthening drying times. After removing lint, if the filter looks dark or dirty when held up to the light, follow these steps to clean:

Use hot soapy water and a stiff brush to clean
the filter.
Make sure the filter is completely dry before
reinstalling it and using the dryer.
NEVER operate the dryer with a wet lint filter.

I have a kenmore gas dryer 110 it doesnt dry the clothes the burner goes on then of stays worm not hot check the fuse its ok the igniter works also dont know what else to check

if the flame is liting but stops after 15 to 30 minutes you have bad gas coils.if the flame is liting and clothes are not drying you have to clean out the dryer and the vent line.remove the vent line,if it's a long run to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, check the outside and make sure nothing is blocking the vent like a screen or cage,if there is remove it and don't put it back after you blow out the line, then clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into,if filter is on top the duct is in the back, remove the front panel and vac out all the lint in the cabinet where the motor is.number one problem with dryers is lint build up,all a dryer does is move air,if it's clogged with lint your gonna have problems.send full model number next time and let me know how you make out,if you need more help let me know

My Kenmore dryer is only getting Luke warm. It is not get as hot as it normally gets. The attachments are secure and everything else is working fine. could it be sme kind of fuse?

no it's not a fuse, when they pop they won't work again,if it's gas it's most likely the gas coils located on top of the gas valve, remove the two phillips screws, remove the cover and change out the coils.also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?all a dryer does is move air,if something gets clogged with lint the dryer can't move the air correctly and problems start.clean out the vent line,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside hood i use a leaf blower to blow out the line, then clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is.let me know what you find and next time send the model number

We have a Kenmore 80 gas dryer that tumbles, has hot air, but takes 2 hrs to dry. Vent line is clear, but lint filter is getting lint on back side of filter as well as normal amount on correct side. The...

Have you cleaned out the lint build-up from inside of the dryer yet? When you disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer, look inside the dryer. It probably have years of lint build up covering everything and needs cleaned out. You also will need to clean out the filter reservoir (with the filter removed) if you can get to it with a vacuum attachment. Be sure to unplug the cord and close the gas valve while you are working on it. Also be sure your vent flap outside is not stuck and allows hot air to open it when in use. Lastly, when you push the dryer back into place, make sure you don't squish the vent tubing if it is an expandable plastic or foil vent, which will restrict air flow and cause drying clothes to take longer. Hope this helps. Douglas

What does it mean when my dryer flashes the letters "af"

Your dryer vent may be crushed or blocked. To resolve this issue:
,Check to see if the vent run from the dryer to the wall is crushed.
Confirm that the vent run from the dryer to the wall is free of lint and debris.
Confirm that the exterior vent exhaust hood is free of lint and debris.
Confirm that your vent system falls within the recommended run length and number of elbows for the type of vent you are using. Refer to the "Plan Vent
System" section of the Use and Care Guide for details.
Select a Timed Dry heated cycle, and restart the dryer.
If the message persists, have your entire home venting run cleaned.

Kenmore 110.72512101 gas dryer

Are you getting little or no lint on the lint screen? Are the clothes coming out nearly as wet as they went in, but feel warm? If so, you probably have a blockage somewhere in the vent/duct. Don't just check the back of the dryer, but also check the duct thru the wall and the point where it exits the house (exterior wall or roof). Many times birds will nest in the exterior vents or if they have a screen to keep the birds out it may become clogged with lint. If you have a window nearby try drying a load with the vent hose disconnected from the wall and hang it out the window (you COULD vent it into the house, but you may end up with lint everywhere and a lot of moisture in your house).
