Question about Sharp Twin Energy EC-TU2607 Vacuum

Open Question

I am replacing a foot pedal on an upright Sharp vacuum cleaner-EC-TU2607. I have the broken foot pedal removed from vacuum cleaner proper but it is the removal of the broken pedal from its spring load that has me puzzled. I applied some pulling effort on the pin that holds the spring in place but there doesn't seem to be any give. Is that the correct approach or is there something else that one should be doing first to release some of the resistance by the pin or spring? Thanks! Puzzled Al

I have a Sharp vacuum EC-12TXT4 upright and I want to adjust the height for various carpets, how is this done? I have lost my owners manual and cannot find such manual on the internet. Could you please...

This model claims to have automatic adjustment. It has two foot pedals at the bottom which gauges the height of the carpet/floor. There's no other way to adjust the height.

The unit will no longer lock in UPRIGHT position. Thank you

On the vacuum main housing next to the pedal there are three notches. Check your pedal against these notches. It may be a simple off-alignment. Otherwise, you may need to replace the pedal.

Self leveling platform will not lower.

Hi There,

This is probably being caused by the two little feet on the bottom of the agitator housing. I have yet to completely understand what the purpose of these two feet are, but what happens is that over time the screws that secure them in place begin to loosen, which allows these two little feet to become lodged between the agitator housing (the part the brush is actually in) and the vacuum bag housing (upright part) preventing the agitator housing from releasing when stepping on the foot pedal.

Here's a picture of these two little feet from the parts schematic. You may either tighten the screws, or just remove these two feet entirely from the vacuum cleaner, Other then helping stabalize the vacuum while in the upright position, these don't really seem to much else.

Here's the picutre of the two feet which are circled in red.

If you inspect these feet and they are not loose, then you may have an issue with the handle release pedal itself. Please just add a comment if this did not fix it, and I will be happy to walk you through step by step on how to fix the handle release.

I really hoped that this helped you fix the machine. If you found my repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair, or leave feedback for me. This is greatly appreciated by the Fixya community.

Thanks again,

Chris Jones

Foot latch is broken. need to replace with new one. how does one access to remove the foot pedal latch. By foot latch, I mean the foot lever that releases the upright to lower the handle and begin...

it is accessed from the bottom underneath by the rear wheel. However, If there are and cracks on the pedal release socket area then the base will need replacement. parts are little cost but the unit needs to be completely disassembled.

Bissell Bagless Vacuum cleaner

There is no release, the part is a plastic handle release lever, you can find those at www.hesco.com, the cost is approximately 2.29 each, I have replaced more than 20 of these on the commercial vacuums for my cleaning crew, the part is easily broken and easily replaced. I always have 6 or more on hand.
Turn the vacuum over, remove the bottom plate, with a flat head screw driver punch out the old part. turn the vacuum upright again after the broken part is removed. With the body laying back on a hard surface, carefully push in the new part. Unfortunately, these are plastic, too bad they cannot design a more sturdy part for this.
