If you are physically able and willing, carefully lift the printer and turn it upside down so the foreign object will freely fall out from the feeder. Shake it carefully, if needed. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

Lexmark X85 won't feed paper. When trying to

There could be something in the paper feeder that's blocking the paper path. Please follow steps below to identify and fix the problem:

1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.

2. Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris.

3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.

4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.

5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause this error or problem.

6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.

7. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it.

8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again.

When printing the paper is not drawn down straight - pulls to one side - and then becomes jammed. This has happened over and over. Is there a wheel or something of track - can I fix this myself. Thanks...

There could be something that's blocking the paper feed system. Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area.

A pen was dropped inside back of printer and it needs to be removed. The printer is not working properly; there is a rattling sound. Thank you

If you are willing and able, remove the printer from the power source. Disconnect the cables from the back of the printer. Remove any paper from the paper feed tray. Holding the printer in both hands, carefully turn it upside down to see if anything falls out of the paper feed area.

Lexmark x2500 won't feed. only right feeder worked

Depending on the age of your printer, and overall usage the pickup rollers tend to glaze over with use and age, you could look on ebay for replacement replacement rollers, but before you do, visually check the rollers, this requires the removal of paper from the printer and visually looking into the paper feed area, look for anything that could cause the roller not to function as it should, this could a small piece of paper left over from a previous paper jam to something that got knocked in to the printer.Once this has been checked, insert one sheet of paper and look at the feed operation when you print a "Test Page", check that both rollers are turning freely and not binding. if everything checks out and the rollers need to be replaced, try this before ordering new ones, remove the old rollers and turn the rubber pickup band inside out..I have heard that this worked and depending on your printer usage this could be what gets you by until the new roller arrives..

The paper is feeding unevenly and jamming

Agreed. Assume every time this happens something microscopic fell into that tiny pinch of an area. I have found everything from a Tostito crumb to a chip of drywall blocking my paper feed. Flip your machine over and shake it around til the little bugger falls out.

you may have something inside on the bottom of the paper feed area what you should do is
1. unplug the printer
2. pull the paper out
3. GENTLY flip it upside down and give it a good shake
4. if you hear anything moving then put it down and take a flash light and look down and see if what ever was moving around is there.
5. if there is something there then take a pair of needle nose pliers or your hand and GENTLY remove after that plug it in and it should work
