Every time there is paper jam, the printer knows the job is not completed and hence tries to re-print after the paper is removed and cover is shut.
Clear the print job from computer.
Power off the printer and Clear the paper jam (if any)
I would try to use different tray. The paper pickup roller in one path may be worn out.
eg Sheet feeder or multipurpose tray.
Load paper in new tray
Set the application to use new tray
Ensure you sue the right thickness (gsm) of the paper. Quality of paper is crucial. Too thin; too thick can affect functioning.
If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing.
If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on.
If this doesn't clear the jam, open the printer cover.Remove the print cartridge and cover it.For additional assistance, please contactLexmark Technical Support
what is the error ?
does it says Paper jam, Open the print cover and remove paper jam..
If this the error repeating then make sure,
1. u r not overfilling the paper tray
2. put the printer on a hard surface (not on a half out surface)
3. from now on be gentle with the paper tray.
4. unplug the printer everytime u r done or atleast overnight.
most likly hood is your exit sensor is faulty. The printer work in this way. if it does not print out all the document. it will print again. that is why you kept getting this same issue after a jam open and close door it will print again.
Check the FUSER, I think your exit sensor is bad.
If you open the rear door, look inside where the paper starts to come out of the printer, you should see a small lever that triggers the PAPER EXIT sensor. It might be hard to see. If it is not broken, you need a new FUSER.
. Switch off the
printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge
inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or
any metal tools inside the chassis.
2. Pin down the exact
location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet
completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and
print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.
3. Take off the front
paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the
printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.
4. Pull the sheet with
both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper,
leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.
5. Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.
6. Use the carriage
access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to
remove the print carriage to get to the jam.
7. Replace all parts and
return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug
your printer back in and flip the power switch.
Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!
