    the message I have on the display says "The ink system has failed and can no longer print. refer to printer documentation. Error Oxc05d1381" I cannot find my manual, and it's very possible I do not have it. Any suggestions???

    I have the C6180 and this message will not go away. restarted the computer several times. Happened right after replacing all my cartridges.

It is the issue with the printer get it replaced coz it might reoccur after troubleshooting

Issue An 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution

  1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  4. Wait two minutes.
  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
  7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved. If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer. Please let me know if the issue is not resolve so that i can check for a possible solution for that. Thank you so much. adonscott

I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it... It is hard to get the cover off (and it's not the top cover, but the one on the right side as facing), but once you do follow the directions below.

- Turn off power and unplug from power source.
- Open right side of printer (looking at the front).
- Disconnect by pulling gently, both white flat ribbon cables off the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on. Wait till you get a error message and push "Ok".
- Unplug power source.
- Reconnect the flat ribbon cables by aligning and carefully pushing into the conectors on the main circuit board.
- Plug in power source and turn printer on (Printer preparing occurred).

I apologize for the confusion, I unintentionally reviewed the touch screen version of your printer. Below is the Hardware fault clearing method for your machine. Please provide me with your results.
#1 Press and Hold the "PrintPhotos" & "Red Eye Removal" buttons. Release both buttons. Display should say "Enter Special Key Combo"

#2 Press and release in sequence "Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "RedEyeRemoval"

#3 Press and release the right arrow button until the display says "System Configuration Menu".

Press and release the "OK" button.

# 4. Display should say "Hardware failure status". If not there already, Arrow Key over to "Hardware failure status

5. Press and release the "OK" button


6. Display should say "Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear"

7. Press and release the "OK" Button. Message changes to "Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue".

8. Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the "Ink System Failure" screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE

9. Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.

10. Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer

11. Turn the unit on. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER" followed by "PRESS OK TO CONTINUE". Press OK.

12. If the printer has already initialized, then go to the next step. If not, the printer will start the "ONE TIME INK INITIALIZATION PROCESS". Allow this process to complete and do not interrupt. Once the initialization process is complete, the printer will print out a Diagnostic Page.

13. To verify printer functionality print a SELFTESTPAGE.

3. Press and release the "OK" button

A printer,s ink pad is at the end of its service life


This means the waste ink collection sponge is full. This counter can be reset but it is strongly recommended to replace the ink pad as you will end up with a large amount of ink spilt on your desk if you continue to use the printer after the pads lifespan. It can be quite a large job to change depending on the model. If the printer is not an expensive model it may be more cost effective and less messy to simply replace it with a similar model.

To fix this error is much easier than it looks. Unplug the printer power. Move the ink cartridge cradle to the left. Over to the right you will see a small pad about 1cm square. This pad and the area around should be covered with ink. Get a cloth and press down on this pad - it's not fixed so should come away with the cloth, otherwise use tweezers gently. Squeeze the pad several times between your thumb and forefinger while inside the microfibre cloth to remove ink build up. Then when not much ink comes out on the cloth, clean the area in the printer around the pad so that looks free from ink too. Then position the pad back in place, move the cradle back into position, plug in and switch on - should work fine now.

Why is print quality poor after inserting new ink. Copies are faint and have lines


the cartridge is clogged with ink that has dried and reduced the slit. you need to replace the cartridge with a new one. it happens usually if you recharge the cartridge 3 or 4 times with compatible ink.

How to clean ink absorber for canon mp237


First of all open the ink cartridge of your printer.
When the ink cartridge would move all the way over, then disconnect the power cord of your printer.
Now pull the frame of rubber from the printer and remove ink pads.
To clean ink pads you may place them in a bowl having warm water and start rubbing and squeezing them to clean it from ink.
After removal of ink, keep the pads separate for dry.
When the pads get dry completely, place them back in rubber frame.
Reinstall the rubber frame in your printer.

HP printer psc 2210 all in one


Chances are that you didn't lock down the scanner when you moved the unit. You can attempt to open the unit and move the scanner bar manually to reset it. HPs are very difficult beasts when it comes to their power up check out. It must be fully functional...including all cartridges...to work in most cases. Good luck.

Printer won't recognize cartridge


I had the same problem. I'm not sure but I think I replaced the cartridges when the printer was on because I turned the printer off and removed one of the cartridges. When I turned the printer back on it recognized that cartridge but not the others. I turned the printer off again, rmoved all cartiridges and put them back in when the printer was still off. When I turned the printer on again I had no problems. So...try turning off the printer, rmove all cartridges, then put them back in and restart printer. Hope this works for you .
