First of all, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether

When you connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED light up? If not then - The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's power socket could be faulty. Check power adapter's DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK then connect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/battery charging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but it requires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket and repair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Cannot power on, even when plugin the AC there's no lights (no charging)

Hello

This is a power problem.

First remove try charging your laptop with another power cord to see if it works

If it doesnt, remove the battery from the laptop and plug the laptop directly into power if the laptop comes on,then the battery is faulty and you should get a new one

But if it doesnt then the charging port is no longer working and you should get a repairer to help you change the charging port

Thank you for visiting fixya

I have a Toshiba L300. The battery doesnt charge. When plugged in, no power is coming into the unit so cannot use.

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, until they won't charge up at all.
Check power adapter’s DC plug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltage should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the bottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that is printed on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Battery will not charge

If the battery will not charge or only has enough for a few minutes or less of power then it is (past) time to replace it with a new one. Depending on how you use and charge expect about 2 years of usable life out of a battery. They seem to make most of these just before quiting time on a Friday so they really don't last. I do have a couple of laptops I use both on and off the charger that are much older than that
One is from 95 and still gives 5 hours of charge.

First check if it might be replaced under warrenty. OEM or Store purchase warrenty's cover this.

If its coming out of your pocket it really pays to shop around. I was replaced one a week ago and was quoted $84 to $176 in town. The higher prices were from computer stores and were saying a week to get it in. The $84 was a battery store and was in the next day.

Ac adapter connection inside laptop doesnt work, light for battery charging will not turn on and will not charge

You adapter may be faulty, check it with a multi-meter, the voltage reading for a functioning adapter should be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on the adapter.
If you do not get a voltage reading then the adapter is faulty and you need to get a replacement adapter.
If you get a reliable voltage reading at the adapter plug, then connect it into the laptop and wriggle this plug. If the charge LED blinks. then the power connector on the laptop is loose/faulty and needs repairing.

Acer laptop 5570z plugges in but not charging

Check the adapter with a multi-meter, the voltage on the plug that connects into the laptop should have a voltage slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the lable on the adapter. If you get nothing then the adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. That is why the battery is not charging.
