my problem is not low battery. I am getting a pc life warning and after replaceing the pc unit still getting warning. is there a pc clock that needs to be reset? or how can I fix the problem. test page shows 10% life even though the pc unit is new?

  • greatga47 Oct 09, 2010

I went to the supplies menu and scrolled. the only items that came up were the pc low warning and yellow toner low warning. no way to get to Replace supply button.

  • greatga47 Oct 10, 2010

Turning off the printer for one hour did not change things, In the Supplies menu I can only access two functions. PC Life Warning ; and Yellow Toner Low. I have Mark Vision Professional loaded in the computer. When I access this program is there a function that can fix the problem?

Hi

If you are getting a low battery error then go to control panel-> power options-> select the power plan and check if you are still getting the low power error. Please provide more details on this issue. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

    Hi

The Lexmark would be showing this error for a particular color. To reset this error try this---
Press either the up or down arrow button on the control panel to scroll through the main menu, search for the Supplies Menu option. Press the check mark button to access the Supplies Menu.
In Supplies Menu find Replace supply Button using the up/down buttons. Press the check mark button again. Use the same arrow keys as before to scroll through the menu in Replace Supply until you reach the correct "PC Unit" for the photoconductor you replaced. This is either the black, yellow, cyan or magenta PC Unit. Press the check button. Now, press the arrow keys one more time to locate the "Yes" command on the menu. Press the check button one last time to reset the supply counter for that photoconductor. Repeat the above steps for each photoconductor you replaced. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

I have a lexmark optra sc 1275 I just downloaded the drivers and tried to print but it takes 3 minutes a page. What is wrong?

Probably nothing. This is a very slow 13 year old printer, claiming 7.5 pages per minute for black and .5 ppm for color. Make sure your settings are for black only to get the maximum speed. Even then, manufacturer claims are often high for print speeds, so 3 minutes a page, especially for color, is probably about right.

We are receiving the error message "84 oc life exhausted". What can we do to solve?

84 PC Life Exhausted indicates that the photoconductor unit has reached its functional life. The photoconductor kit will need to be replaced. The printer will not function so long as the Exhausted message remains on the display. The only way to clear the message is to install a new photoconductor. After replacing the photoconductor unit, you need to manually reset the pc page counter as well. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

Lexmark Optra 1275sc - 900 Service - Software Error

I have the same problem, but the error only occurs when I try to print a .pdf file (Adobe Reader) using the "Lexmark Optra SC 1275 PS" driver. For some reason the PS driver didn't like .pdf files! My solution was to always print .pdf files using the alternative " Lexmark Optra SC 1275 (MS)" driver, which Lexmark also offers on its website.

I have a Lexmark E352dn printer. The screen showed that the Photoconductor needed replacing which I have done. However the screen still shows " 84 Replace Photoconductor " I have removed and...

the problem is that you need to reset the counter of the photoconductor unit. From the official site of lexmark, i find this solution.
Step Action 1 Enter the printer's Configuration menu:
  1. Power off the printer.
  2. On the printer's operator panel, press and hold the select button (pattlnk_11202006_2142-select_button.jpg) and the back button (pattlnk_4122007_1833-back%20button%20e350_e352_e450.gif).
  3. Power the printer back on while keeping both these buttons held down.
  4. When you see the messages Performing Self Test or Busy on the printer screen, you can release both buttons.
  5. If the printer has successfully entered configuration mode, you will see a new menu with the heading CONFIG MENU at the top of the screen.
2 Press the right arrow button (pattlnk_4122007_1837-right_arrow.jpg) until you see Reset PC Cnt. Press pattlnk_11202006_2142-select_button.jpg once. You will see Reset. Press pattlnk_11202006_2142-select_button.jpg again.
The printer will display a Resetting PC Count Value message and go back to the previous screen.
3 Press pattlnk_4122007_1833-back%20button%20e350_e352_e450.gif once. 4 Press pattlnk_4122007_191-left_arrow.jpg or pattlnk_4122007_1837-right_arrow.jpg on the operator panel until you see Exit Config Menu. Press pattlnk_11202006_2142-select_button.jpg once. Selecting this will cause the printer to reboot.

If the counter has been reset correctly, the printer should return to a Ready prompt.
5 If this does not clear the PC Life Warning or Replace Photoconductor message, power off the printer and attempt this entire procedure again. If the error remains after two attempts, confirm that:
  • The correct photoconductor unit is installed. The part number on the photoconductor unit should be E250X22G. If it is not, install the correct photoconductor unit into the printer.
  • The photoconductor unit has not been refurbished by a third party or is not damaged in any way. If the photoconductor unit was refurbished by a third party or appears to be damaged, try replacing it again before seeking service on the printer.

My problem with the Lexmark optra sc 1275

Lexmarks use a silicone oil cleaning pad on top of the fuser, try to locate a door on top towards the rear, take it out you might see a long black piece, when you take it out it has a felt on the bottom it is used to clean excess toner off the fuser it should be replaced everytime you change your toner ( usually comes w/the toner).
