Maytag bravos mvwx500xw0 has no power after closing lid

You should hear a click just before the lid closes and a click just after it opens. If no click, check lid switch and it's actuator.

My washer does not spin or drain.

If the unit will agitate but not spin or drain I recommend checking the lid switch first. You should be able to hear the lid switch click as you slowly open & close the lid. If you don't hear a distinct click, replace the switch.
Here is the part you need.

I have a top loading whirlpool washer. For some reason it stopped spinning. The water is coming in and draining I can hear the motor running but it wont spin. Any suggestions of how I can fix it without...

it sounds like the drive cupler or also known as motor cupler,,,tilt unit back and look underneath washer,,recomendid to have someone hold it so it wont fall forward on you,,then look for a plastic and rubber oreo cookie that is the cupler,,located between motor and transmission,,,second issue and a bit easyer door lid switch or safty switch,,lift cover and slowly close if you hear a click it is ok no click means no good,,,it shold click at the closed point,,if not unit beleaves door lid is always open and will not spin,,,also if unit aditates but no spin it is normally the door swich as well

Ultimate Care II, delicate cycle fills nothing else

sonds like the door lid swich is not activating properly, next time it does not star for you try lifting the lid and listening for a clicking noise upon closing it.. i bet yo ucant hear it, if this is the case look to the left side of the door and make sure the hinge scres are tight, and if so you can liftthe lid( and with your hand under the lid open and clos a feww times ( you wantto feel the pin that actuates the switch its actualla contiuation ofthe hinge itself, when oyu locate it you can try to bend it towards teh back of the unit.. i use a hollow nutdriver/screwdriver to accomplish this, as you push it the lid will wantto close( your pushing against it) afeter yo udo this you should hear it "click" easier when opening and closing

Kenmore 44152 3.5 high capicity washer will not spin

Open the lid of the washer and let it down gently to see if you hear a click when it closes. There is a lid switch that sometimes fails and prevents the washer from going into a spin cycle. If you don't hear the click when the lid closes, then you may need to have the lid switch replaced.

Washer will not start

It sounds like the lid switch may be bad or have come loose. Open the lid and there should be a thing on the underside that pokes into the washer when you close it. At the place where it pokes into the washer you should see the top of the lid switch and it should be flush with the washer body. Stick a screwdriver into that hole to push down the switch and it should click. Pull the screwdriver out and it should click again. If it does click then close the lid slowly and listen closely near the switch to see if you still hear the clicking.

If you don't hear the clicking, then you will have to change the lid switch (usually costs about 30-50 dollars) or just bypass it. If you do bypass it, be careful. It will still spin even with the lid open and can be dangerous.
