Question about HP Photosmart 8250 InkJet Printer
First check the print settings and verify whether the "Managed by Application" on the Color tab is selected or not, if it's selected, deselect it or if it's not selected, select it and apply the changes then try again.
If this doesn't seem helpful, remove all the cartridges (ink tanks), remove the Printhead unit and dip it in a bowl of warm water and leave it for about an hour so that clogged/dried ink or mixed up ink stuck on the nozzles will be cleaned [if it's not cleaned at one go, you can change the water several times], you can use a soft brush to clean them (should be cleaned very gently, otherwise you might damage them, if you are not sure, don't use a brush, simply use a tong and wave it through the water). After it's cleaned, leave it outside to dry and then reinstall it.
Clean all the nozzles of the ink tanks (cartridges) using a cotton swap (bud) dampen with cleaning solution (if you don't have a cartridge cleaning kit, don't use any other solution like acetone or alcohol etc.. you better use WATER)... Please do this with care, otherwise you might damage the nozzles (irrepairable).
After everything is done, reinstall them and try again.
It's also important to update the Printer's Drivers to the latest updated version, you can download the driver form here (click here). Please note : Before you reinstall, Uninstall the currently installed drivers/softwares completely from your computer, otherwise it will not help doing so..
I couldn't get any picture or video tutorial for your model or similar models...I am sorry for that..
Reinstall all the ink tanks and try again.

Please follow the below mentioned steps.
Step 1: Check the ink cartridges HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink. If the ink cartridges have been refilled, try replacing them with genuine HP ink cartridges. Step 2: Check ink levels If the print defect is minor, it might be caused by reserve mode operation. When the printer runs out of some colors, it can continue printing using remaining inks, but print quality may be affected. If cyan, magenta, or yellow is out, the printer can print only in grayscale. Replace any empty print cartridges. To check ink levels, examine the ink drop icons on the color graphics display.
