Connecting cell phone to car stereo bluetooth

Hi,
I was able to pair my car stereo (Pioneer DEH-P7900BT) to my cellphone (Samsung SCH-a950). However, when I press the 'Search and Connect' option on the car stereo, the stereo searches and finds the cellphone, but I am unable to scroll down to select the cellphone device name to complete the connection. The scroll down button works for every other option. I tried to reset my stereo to factory settings and unplugged the car battery for five minues, but was still unsuccessful in scrolling down to the phone device name. Help!

I have a DEH-P7000BT, My Treo 680 was linked to it once, but now they do not connect. The phone sees the radio, other blue tooth devices see my phone, the radio indicates that my phone is paired with it but the radio will not link with the phone. I have tried forceing a connect via the paired functions, I tried re pairing but the radio does not see the phone. I deleted everyting once, got it to re pair and work but now it does not work again.

SOURCE: Connecting Pioneer DEH-2000MP to an amplifier

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

You would need a special adapter that connects to the speaker wires of the Pioneer DEH-2000MP and converts them to line level RCA ports. Something like the image below and available from here or most car stereo stores.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

I bought a used pioneer deh-p7900bt, i cant use the bluetooth because of a code error, my phone recognises it but i cant connect. is there a universal code or a reset?

As an owner of the 7900 i'm assuming your talking about Error-80

If this is the one, turn the ignition on, using a pencil or similar item press the button just to the left of the eject button. this will completely reset the internal flash memory. Once it turns back on hold the dial in until you get into a setup screen. rotate the dial counterclockwise to "BT Memory"
press the dial to the right and it should come up with "reset?" now press the dial. 99% of the time it will say error but it still completes. Now turn the stereo back on and press the phone button. pair your phone to the stereo and viola you're all set.

Pionee DEH-P7900Bt

This may be a long shot but who knows... I am one of those that reads the manual after I have figured most things out. I had the same problem but it was due to the above :) When a call was coming in I was pushing the phone button on the receiver. After reading the manual I discovered that is the "ignore" button for incoming calls. To answer the call you simply push the multifunction knob.

Broken lcd screen

I have to tell you that swapping LCD screens are pretty hard especially for phones that you have to open up like this one. Just take the screen to some Cellphone store they might be able to do it. Good luck.
