Kenmore 70 series model #97573200/stock # 75732. It's a gas dryer with an electric igniter. The problem is, dryer runs but there is no heat. I'm thinking there's a problem with the igniter? ...

if the ignitor is lighting up, the problem is going to be in the coils that are attached to the gas valve itself, heres what they look like http://www.applianceaid.com/images/2coilsgenaralgas.JPG

Kenmore series 500 gas dryer not heating up. model # 77542600 Other than the ignitor what could be the problem?

Check the coils on gas valve. If igniter glows bright & no CLICK sound heard after a few seconds of igniter glowing, coils are bad, or flame sensor if so equiped

Dryer not heating on any setting.

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Check to make sure you are getting full 220 Volt power to the dryer if you are then:

Sounds like your problem may be with the heating coil.
Remove the back of the machine and try to locate the air duct going from the blower to the drum. Normally inside the air duct you will find the heating coil and the thermostats/thermistor.
Once you have located the heating coil, remove the two wires from it and check the coil with an ohm meter across the two terminals of the coil.
You should read continuity across the terminals, if not you will need to replace the coil as it is faulty.
If the heating coil is ok, then:
You can check the thermostat/thermistor by removing the two wires and taping them together with electrical tape.
If the coil heats up then replace the thermostat/thermistor.
DO NOT LEAVE THE WIRES TAPED TOGETHER AFTER THE TEST. This could cause a fire, as you have removed the safety of overheat from the machine.
I will include these two websites for parts and further help:

Both also have chat assistance 24/7.
Good Luck,
Hope this helps

Kenmore Dryer 97272100 Dryer runs but no heat

You should have your owner's manual on hand to locate specific parts and understand how to disassemble the dryer. Also make sure that the power is disconnected from the appliance before making any repairs.

1)Check the fuses near the heating element. Inspect them for breaks inside the fuse. Replace them if necessary.
2)Test the temperature switch with a volt-ohm meter. Set the meter to RX1 and zero it out. Touch the meter probes to each terminal on the switch. The reading should be zero. Next turn the switch on and test it again. Now the reading should show infinity. If the switch fails either test replace it with a new one.
3)Check the heating coil to see if it is bad. Use the volt-ohm meter and touch the probes to each of the heating coil terminals. If it reads zero, the heating coil needs to be replaced.

No heat on kenmore 97272100 dryer

The following link explains how to troubleshoot as dryer no heat problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r630242-dryer_runs_but_not_heat

First, double check your voltage at the wall receptacle. If incorrect, this will also cause the symptoms you describe. The reason: The drive motor only requires 110-120VAC to run, while the heating circuits require the full 220 service. If you are missing one leg of your 220 service, the heating circuits will not operate, but the drive motor will still run.

Next, pay particular attention to the section that discusses proper dryer ventilation. Most dryer heat related problems are attributed to poorly/imporperly installed dryer exhaust vent ducting, or a dryer that is clogged with lint preventing proper air flow. If left in a clogged condition, a dryer will actually overheat to the point of failure and you will experience repeated failures of any components you replace.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope this helps you.

No heat burner comes on for a few minutes and then goes out

Check the following to address this issue.

1. Gas valve coils
Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

2. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

3. Igniter
Igniter may burn out or break. Replace the igniter if found defective.

Note: Igniters are very fragile and break easily. It is recommended to handle the igniter only touching the ceramic part of it (usually white in color).

4. Flame sensor (or radiant heat sensor)
Replace the sensor (located near the igniter) if found defective.

Kenmore front load washer won't heat

The gas burner assembly uses solenoid coils in a circuit with the flame sensor to safely ignite the burner. When the dryer starts a heated cycle, the circuit through those components is energized. The igniter glows until it reaches the proper temperature to ignite the gas, at which point the flame sensor trips open and the current flowing through that circuit is diverted to the gas valve coils so the gas valves open, and the burner lights and continues to burn. If the solenoid coils on the gas valves fail, the gas valves won't open for ignition. If the gas valve coils are weak, the burner lights during the initial ignition sequence from a cold start but it fails to light the burner on subsequent ignition attempts. In this situation, replace the valve coils. I Had the same problem with mine and I fixed for like $25.00 US. Its not hard to do look at the video. Either buy your part from them or to get it fast and not out of this world go to "repairclinic.com
