Hi.

If the table does not dissolve there are three possible reasons.

  1. There is not enough water in the tub.
  2. You are using the wrong detergent.
  3. The drawer is not opening in due time.

There is not enough water in the tub.
The machine is underfilling.
Most common responsible is water level switch. Water level is regulated either by the float switch, or through a pressure switch. Both can stop filling.
Restricted inlet hose and valve result in cycle not complete or long cycling. If those are the culprit, cycle will not complete, this is valid for most dishwashers. If cycle is OK, that is not the problem.
In some case a bad control unit can cause underfilling.
Some models like new GE have additional devices.
In most cases, if there is not enough water, check the water level switch and sensor.

You are using the wrong detergent.
Check, just in case. Specs are on the manual. I am sure you have checked it already.

The drawer is not opening in due time.
This is probably most common occurrence. An object is preventing the drawer door from opening completely. Try running a cycle without the baskets.
If that does not help, then the drawer opens too late, either because of a defective door latch and door mechanics(spring), or because there is a problem with control board.

Check if a basket is keeping door closed or if machine is underfilling. Depending on model there may be more issues.

My dish washer soap does not dissolve, whether or not I put the tablet or the pillow into the soap dispenser. Is it the soap dispenser door? Would hard water buildup create low water pressure so the soap...

The most likely causes are the you are using a tablet in a gel coating but putting the tablets into the dispenser drawer when the dispencer drawer is damp, thus causing the tablet to stick inside the housing; or, if the dispenser drawer is releasing the tablet into the bottom of the cabinet then I would say you have a problem with your water heater. In which case you would need an enginner to come and replace the heater.

Hope this is of help

Soap tablets are not disolving in the drawer?

Unlike a dishwasher the drawer on a washing machine is for soap powder or liquid. Tablets won't dissolve in the drawer you need to put them in the drum if at all.

The soap isn't fully disolving and the dishes on the top rack are looking like they haven't been touched.

Make sure your water temp is 140 degrees
make sure to use only FINISH Tablets
make sure the telescoping arm in the center of the dishwasher lifts fully and drops under it's own weight
make sure the wash arm on the bottom of the tub spins freely.

Tablet is not dissolving from my dishwasher drawer

If it drops to the bottom when you open the dishwasher door - your soap dispenser is blocked by the rack or an utencil protruding from the rack. Make sure both racks slide in all the way to the back. (hint: check the middle spray arm inlet, make sure it aligns with the tube on back.
Good luck)

Tablet falls to the bottom of tub but wont disolve

The newer Whirlpool dishwashers have little slots in the top of the soap dispenser to allow water to seep in during the first water fill. This design allows the tablet to begin to dissolve during the first fill then be usefull when the soap door opens. In your case, I would check to see if the soap dish is opening at all. Perhaps one of the racks are not allowing clearance or the soap door itself is sticking closed.

Let the dishwasher fill, drain, and then fill again. Open the door of the dishwasher and see if the soap door is still closed and if so, there is your problem. Also, at this time, check the water temperature. It should be at least 120 degrees F for the soap to be effective.

Hope this helps, Ken

Tablets will not disolve

Hi there!

Some tablets seem to be compressed more than other makes.

Try putting one in the utensil basket instead of usual pocket.

Make sure salt level is adequate, as this affects how easily the tablets disolve / how effective they are.

If there is a flap or sprung drawer they sit in, Make sure it is clean and not restricted with goo. Listen to see if the solenoid is working to release it correctly.

Hope this helps you.
If not - contact me again and I will continue.
Thanks.

The detergent cup can become clogged with old dried detergent that prevents it from opening at time. Sometimes just cleaning the cup takes care of the problem. The detergent cup opened by a bi-metal switch or a wax motor located inside your dishwasher door(behind the detergent cup). If cup's cleaning will not solve the problem, you should replace the bi-metal switch or the wax motor (depend which of them is used in your machine). Another option is just to place the detergent tablet on washer's bottom before starting its cycle. Good luck !
