Hi,

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

ry running IE without add-ons, All Programs, Accessories, then System tools, find IE no add-ons. If it runs OK in this mode then you'll know that it's an add-on problem. You'll need to find out which is the offending one by disabling a few at a time in normal mode.

The R at the top of screen reminds you that angle unit is in Radians. The MATH says that the Input/Output mode is MathIO. In this IO mode, fractions are stacked (2levels) as in textbooks.. The R setting should not bother you unless you are doing trigonometry problems (in which case set the appropriate angle unit). The MathIO
allows you to do exact calculations with fractions and radicals. Beside
you can always convert fractions ad radicals to decimals.

As to the f(x)=, I believe you have changed the computational setting from COMP (usual) to TABLE. In table mode you supply a function and the calculator generates a table of values.

To recover the normal mode COMP, press MODE and select COMP (should be the choice 0:COMP).

- Press MODE 9 to shift into Normal display mode, or MODE 7 and enter the number of digits you want to see.
- sin 30 EXE. Be aware that the result depends on the angular mode. Most math problems are specified in radians, while your example sounds like it's in degrees. To select degrees, press MODE 4. To select radians, press MODE 5.
- 30 * sin 30 EXE. Everything in #2 above applies.

I am not sure what you want because the mathIO mode IS THE ONE THAT DISPLAYS results as fractions.

You have two display modes: MthIO (with fractions, radicals) and LineIO (with decimals). Which one do you want?

To set MthIO press [Shift][MODE][1:MthIO]

To set LineIO, press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO]

Concerning the scientific display mode.

Decimal numbers can be displayed in various formats, Fixed,Scientific, and Normal. If you do not want scientific display of results, just set the mode to Fix(ed) and specify the number of decimal digits. However if a number to be displayed (a result) is too small or too large IT WILL BE DISPLAYED in scientific format regardless of the mode you selected.

Press SHIFT MATH 2 to switch to the LineIO mode. You won't see fractions then. However, if magnitude of the number is too large or too small, the calculator will switch to scientific notation in order to fit into the display.

Hello,

Press [SHIFT][MODE][6:Fix] and press a numbetr between (0--9). The number you select will be the number of decimal places your results have.

However if a result is smaller than 0.001 it will be in scientific notation.

Hope it helps.

How do I get rid of the word "Fix" from the calculator display.

I had the same problem. To change the output to decimals, do the following:

Go to Math mode, then SHIFT, MODE (set-up), 2 (lineIO). This will cause answers to show in decimal format. I hope this helps.

I was able to find a manual at: http://www.generalmanual.com/Calculators/Casio-FX-300ES-Scientific-Financial-Calculator.htm
