Codes and programing info here:
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/23925020/Programming-Remote-Control-Brand-Codes-TV-Sets

Might also be the last three or four digits in the TV's serial number.(like my ATD TV)

On some controllers you just have to hold the TV button till its light stays on, or whatever change happens, then enter the code, either three or four digits. You'll know after a few tries. If you get the right code the TV should either turn off or at least be controllable.

How do I link my new remote control to my television without the manual ?

  1. Identify the brand and model of your television: Look for the brand name and model number of your television. This information is usually located on the back or side of the TV itself. Knowing the brand and model will help you find the correct remote control codes for programming.
  2. Search for remote control codes: Most remote controls come with a set of codes for various television brands. Without the manual, you can try searching for the remote control codes online. Many websites and databases provide lists of codes for different TV brands.
  3. Entering the codes manually: Once you find the code for your TV brand, follow these steps to enter it into the remote control:a. Turn on your television. b. Press and hold the "Setup" or "Code Search" button on the remote until the indicator light turns on. c. Enter the code for your TV brand using the remote's number buttons. The indicator light should turn off if the code is entered correctly.
  4. Test the remote: After entering the code, try using the remote to control your television. Test functions like power on/off, volume, and channel buttons to see if they work correctly. If they do, the remote control is successfully linked to your television.
If you don't have success with the first code you find, try other codes for your TV brand. Sometimes, multiple codes are available, and you may need to try several before finding the correct one.
If the above steps don't work, it's possible that your remote control uses a different method for programming. In that case, try searching for the specific programming instructions for your remote control model online. Manufacturers often have manuals and programming guides available on their websites.
If all else fails, consider contacting the manufacturer of the remote control for assistance or purchasing a universal remote that can automatically search for the correct code for your television.

Do i get codes for my tv brand or my remote braND

You will need to find the universal remote control codes for the TV set, but you will have to know what model of URC (universal remote control) that you have to get the instruction sheet with the codes on it.

Copy the link below and paste it into your web browser, enter the model number or name of the URC in the box for Search For Downloadable Files. Select the remote that you have by clicking on View Details, click on Download File. I hope this helps, cheers.
