I Have a Scholtes induction hob. Its about four years old. Now and then the rings just stop working. The displays stays fully on but the ring just cools down. I switch to another ring and it works. Shortly I got back to the other and it starts to work again.

E6 means - IGBT Overheat protection.
The manual says "Please allow the induction cooktop to cool down. Remove paper or cloth if any underneath. If problem persists take to service centre"

Code e on only two of the right hand zones on siemens induction hob

Hello.

These codes mean that the oven's electronic control hasdetected a condition it needs to check which mean error. When you see a code, follow these steps to solve the problem:
  • Press "Stop/Clear" to clear the display and stop the beeping.
  • Reprogram the oven.
  • If the code still displays, turn off the power to the oven at your breaker box and wait five minutes before turning it back on.
Thanks.

I have a cata ceramic hob. the child lock has been engaged & is restricting operation of any of the 4 hob's

When you turn on the hobs main power, press the the rear left hand element pad at the same time and the lock will come off.

press the centre minus button and the bottom right plus button at the same time it will work if not keep trying
You have to hold down the centre sensor button with the minus on and the sensor which turns on the bottom right ring immediatley after turning the hob on. It should unlock, then press the minus again
the hob switchs off
when you now switch on there will be no lock

I have GE JES735-BJ02 that heats but makes weird sounds like a rumbling sound.

It could be a failing fan motor or magnetron.

While a microwave should never be left running unattended under any circumstances (as your owner's manual will tell you) it's even more important when one is exhibiting a failure or any odd behavior. So play it safe and stay with it while it's running!

And, as with anything that is not working right, it should be fixed as soon as possible or it can get worse.

If it's less than one year old, it would be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

GE Customer Service is here.
