I have a Bissell Proheat 2x Model 9200. The solution goes directly through to the carpet. The tank empties extremely fast even when I am not pushing the button. I have also noticed that I have soap spots on the carpet when pushing the cleaner forward. These spots are not even associated with the cleaning mechanism. I have inspected the cap on the tank, but it seems to be OK. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my Bissell carpet cleaner. I tried all the recommendations but nothing worked. After reading all the blogs, I discovered that many people had the same problem. Fortunately, I still had the receipt from Costco which they honored and gave me a full refund. I was ready to throw it in the trash.

We have several parts here for the Proheat 2X,
Proheat 2X Shampooer Shampooer Parts
It may be a clog in your tank, preventing the water being sucked back up. Check your tank and tubes for clogs or damage. Make sure the brush is still rotating and the belt is not broken too.

the o-ring is likely dislodged on the screw on cap

personally I would recommend just filling the soap container with water and a little bit of white vinegar instead of the detergent. You won't leave soap residue in your carpet that way.

Bissell 2X Proheat 9200 - uses lots of cleaner.

May be that the cap and valves on the bottom of the tank is not shutting like it should and letting too much to come out. You may have to replace them.
