When I tell the PC to print it accepts the message, the little printer shows in the task bar and then it dissappears...no response from printer at all. I have checked the cords & rebooted my PC but still no change. I run Windows XP with an HP deskjet 710C printer. I need your help please!

I'm not sure if you have done this: Open the print queue. You can do this by clicking on the little computer or by opening the printers icon in the control panel. Does that printer show any print jobs? If so, most likely the first one errored out and nothing will print until you delete all the jobs in the queue.
If, looking in the Control Panel, you see more than one HP printer, there is a possibility that an extra one got installed and you are using the wrong printer. To test this, right-click on the other printer (if it is there) and choose "print a test page". If it prints, delete the incorrect printer.

I have this problem with my HP as well. Turn your printer off for a few minutes then back on. Try printing again, if the same thing happens you will need to uninstall the printer software and reinstall it. You will do this by going to start, control panel, change or remove programs and a list will generate. In this list look for your hp printer to be listed, highlight it and click remove. Once it is removed you will need to reinstall, do this by either placing your cd in and following the steps or if you dont have your cd, log onto www.hp.com and click drivers and downloads, select your model or if your printer is plugged in it will auto detect for you. download and install and attempt to print again, this should work.

The printer shows the error message "Turn power off and then on" but it does not get off swicted off and it continues to blick the same error message, how do I fix it?

Sounds like a lack of communication from your printer to your print port.
Try this... left click your task bar in lower bottom right corner. if you see a small icon that looks like a printer open it. Then left click it and select discontinue/cancel print job. With the printer still on restart your computer,( save all work before you do the reboot.)
This should bring your printer back up to communicating with your computer.
Hope you good luck.

Nothing response in printing

Ensure that your printer is well connected and that it is powered.

In the task bar near the clock might exist a small icon of a printer.

Double click it and clear all the queue for printing by deleting it. Try to print again. You could try to restart before printing. Tell me if it works.

Red light is on and won't print

The problems you checked are indicated by a blinking red light (it denotes minor errors). A solid red light usually means that one of the toners is exhausted. If you look in the task bar, there's a little blue S; double click on this to launch Smart Panel, our monitoring software. It will tell you the specific error message.

If one of the toners is showing empty already, are you sure this wasn't a used model or possibly a display unit that people would have been printing on?

PRINTERMEMORY SEEMS TO REFUSE, NO PRINT ARE ACCEPTED

See if something is waiting in your print queue and blocking all your later print jobs. Is there a little printer icon in your system tray, lower right on your task bar? Double click on it and if there are jobs lined up in the column, delete them.

Will not print

Make sure you select the printer has the default printer under the Printers and Faxes option on control panel.

Simply right click your printer and select the option "Set as the default printer"

To make sure it is solved, go to the printer properties under the right-click menu and hit "Print test page"

Good luck
