Question about Gaggenau Ovens

Open Question

I have a 15 year old Gaggenau EB 868 oven and for some reason after all this time, I cannot set the clock and the oven will not come on. I have set the clock by depressing the two buttons (C&D) but then after about 5 minutes it reverts to 000 and the two lights under the far left and the button beside it (C & D) start to flash and the clock then goes back to 000. I have tried turning off the oven to clear the memory - but this does not work either. Can you help me? I don't want to pay for an expensive call out if it is something I can fix myself!

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: oven doesn't work, stove does

If it's a Whirlpool or Kenmore oven (or one of several other brands that are made by Whirlpool) then this error code means:

F1 - E1 Safety flip flop Replace Electronic Range Control/Clock (ERC)

The system believes that the control board has failed and needs to be replaced.

This page has a list of diagnostic codes by brand and model number. You should check there to look up your particular brand to confirm what I just said.

SOURCE: clock keeps flashing i keep

It looks like the clock is on its way out. I would try two things. First, turn the power off at the main switch, leave it off for a few mins and then turn it back on and see if it makes a difference. You may need to do this a couple of times. Secondly, with the power switched off, repeatedly press all the clock buttons one at a time a number of times - there may be a contact that needs cleaning by operation and then see what happens. if you do need a new clock/timer then ask espares for a quote.

this oven could be in display mode this only allows non harmful functions to work eg lights etc but no heat this can be disabled through clock test prog reset but you will need an engineer to do it as complicated.

I am a gaggenau engineer this is usually a fault with the door lock mechanism it can be manually reset eg remove oven and side panel pull back locking arm there is a also a built in test prog in oven clock that will switch door lock back to reset position but these will need to be done by an engineer as oven very heavy.
