Question about Westinghouse Washing Machines
If its the timer timer will not move past mark for a length of time reset timer and run threw cycle
if humming the motor has gotten seized up for some reason usually its the coupling that they put between motor and shaft it would look like this
these tend to break these are only 3 dollar parts causeing the hum in the washer
this is a water pump sometimes old socks and or clothing or material get stuck in this pump take apart look in side to see if clogged
if clogged with material get a long needle nose pliars and i mean long and pull materual out it will be tough 2 people one holding one pulling the material pull it threw the inlet direct back out the way it went in it wont come out the other outlet and remember theres always replacement pumps if theres something stuck inside there at good prices
what you described at the top had happened to me and i had to pull the pump found out one of my kids socks was in there i pulled it out with needle nose pliars put back together and washer worked since then
