Sounds like you either have a problem with the magnatron or wave guide most likley it would be cheaper to replace the microwave rather than repair it

Not to contradict your fix but i still believe you have another problem. Something has had to have drawn an excessive ampload to cause the solder joint to fail. I would take amp draws on the main leads to verify this.

Microwave lights up, turntable turns and fans run however food does not heat up. I have checked to ensure the power level is up which it is. Tried the express 1 minute as well as using the time mode and...

The problem is one of three things, the magnetron "common issue" the high voltage capacitor and diode can be a factor, all three work together in conjunction with the high voltage transformer to generate the high voltage that heats the food.

Doesnt heat up

in a microwave, there is no heating element. There are microwaves that heat up the water molecules, they make them spin fast and that's what heats things up. Running it with nothing in it, you really can tell if it's not working by that test either, again, nothing to heat up. I would put in a cup of water, set on high for 3 minutes and it should boil, if not, get a new one for the price, why mess around?

Kenmore built in microwave displaying "D" and wont heat.

"d" may mean demo mode. The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power outlet for 10 minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Microwave is dead. wont lite up. Power source is fine.

We have a similar situation where we were heating food, there is no power. The model #JVM1090 Serial # 912305S. Is there a fuse or reset button, we do have the owner's manual and would like to make the repair if it is simple.

Thank you for your help
